I'm never quite sure whether to call Mary Stewart's books romantic suspense (and post here), or to call them suspenseful romance (and post them in romance).

In the end, this time, I went with suspenseful romance, so here's a cross-post link for three titles that have recently dropped to $0.99 at Kindle and Kobo US, including my favorite Stewart title, Madam, Will You Talk?

Most of the John Cunningham/Three Oaks series by Gerald Hammond is $0.99/£0.99 at Kindle US/UK as part of the Countdown program, for about 1 1/2 more day.

Kindle US: http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/?sea...price-asc-rank
Kindle US/Smile: http://smile.amazon.com/gp/search/?s...price-asc-rank
Kindle UK: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/search/?s...price-asc-rank
Kindle UK/Smile: http://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/search/...price-asc-rank

The UK links have a couple of strays.

And for some reason, the first book in the series, Dog in the Dark, which is semi-permanently at $0.99, and occasionally free, isn't picked up by the link in the US:

The first 2 books in the London Large series by Garry & Roy Robson are currently on sale at Amazon US.

London Large: Blood on the Streets (#1) is FREE.

Quote:
A city in meltdown. Corruption at the top and war on the streets. Can one man stand alone?

Harry ‘H’ Hawkins is the people of London’s staunchest defender, but when a bloody international gang war threatens to rip the metropolis apart, ‘London’s top copper’ finds himself under siege as never before.

London Large: Bound by Blood (#2) is a Kindle Countdown Deal for $0.99.

Quote:
Mass murder stalks the land. A tortured father at war with his son. One last shot at redemption.

Harry ‘H’ Hawkins is the people of London’s staunchest defender, but when he returns to work after a mental and physical breakdown to find pop superstar Bazza Wishbone murdered in the dead of night in a top London hotel, he is pushed to his limits.
They appear to be self-published (by London Large Publishing) but have hundreds of positive reviews on Amazon and Goodreads. The second has been in my TBR pile for the last year.

Death on the Nile is about 1/2 way through the Hercule Poirot series by Agatha Christie. It is £0.99 at Kindle UK today as part of the Daily Deal.

Quote:
Agatha Christie’s most exotic murder mystery, with a striking new cover to tie in with the highly anticipated 2020 film adaptation.
The tranquillity of a cruise along the Nile is shattered by the discovery that Linnet Ridgeway has been shot through the head. She was young, stylish and beautiful, a girl who had everything – until she lost her life.

Hercule Poirot recalls an earlier outburst by a fellow passenger: ‘I’d like to put my dear little pistol against her head and just press the trigger.’ Yet in this exotic setting’ nothing is ever quite what it seems…

A dowager is being scared to death in this classic whodunit by a #1 New York Times–bestselling master who “helped the mystery series grow up” (The New York Times).

It’s enough to stop Eliza Fairbanks’s heart. At least that’s what the elderly widow claims is being done to her. First, someone unleashes a cloud of bats in her locked bedroom. When that doesn’t do the trick, next comes a pack of rats to claw at her toes. Special duty nurse Hilda Adams, aka “Miss Pinkerton” to the Homicide Bureau, believes Eliza’s every rattled fear is true. She may be frail—but she’s not batty.

What Eliza is, is very, very rich. Out of the shady and oddball assortment of relatives swarming the mansion, someone clearly has an eye on the Fairbanks fortune. Now it’s Hilda’s job to keep an eye on Eliza before a potential killer resorts to more definitive means. And considering all the bad blood running through the heart of the Fairbanks family, it might already be too late to save her charge.

Thanks for that. I've been picking up these Mary Roberts Rinehart novels and swapping out the perfectly acceptable modern covers with the wonderful old pulp covers.

The Kill List - Frederick Forsyth $1.99 Amazon, Kobo and B&N. I have not read this book, but have enjoyed some of his older books such as Day of the Jackal. This is a thriller.

Quote:
In northern Virginia, a secret agency named TOSA (Technical Operations Support Activity) has one mission: to track, find, and kill those so dangerous to the United States that they are on a short, very close-held document known as the Kill List.

Now a new name has been added: a terrorist of frightening effectiveness called the Preacher, who radicalizes young Muslims living abroad to carry out assassinations. Unfortunately for him, one of his targets is a retired Marine general, whose son is TOSA’s top tracker of men.

The Preacher has made it personal—and now the hunt is on….
