The Nia is essentially the Aura2v2 in a Clara case.

I like the power button on the back, like the Aura 2 and Voyage. So I think that a definite step down for the Nia. But I understand standardization. When the Aura 2 originally came out the button also on the back for the Aura One and H2O v2. That was Kobo's standard at the time.

Most current, traditionally shaped, eReaders have the power button on the the bottom. I guess this makes them cheaper to manufacture by keeping the buttons and ports in one area. Personally I think the top bezel power button makes more sense, that's where the pre-Kobo Tolinos put it -- also the older Kobos.

I liked the review and appreciated its existence. The Clara HD's plastic doesn't concern me, since I sheathed it in a blue cover moments after I received it. I'll either buy a second CHD for travel or await the next ereader that Kobo seems poised to release.

I think I'll pick up a Nia for a kick around ereader when they go on sale at $50. | |
