Anyone else having trouble downloading books from Overdrive? I have a Kobo Aura. Message that I do not have permission, reauthorize which I have done. Now it won't even allow me to transfer to my ereader. This is the third time that an upgrade from Kobo has caused problems with Overdrive. Any suggestions?

The Kobo Aura does not support Overdrive.

Older Kobo ereaders

On older Kobo ereaders (including the earlier Kobo Aura, Aura H2O, Touch 2.0, and Glo), you can read ebooks you've transferred from a computer using Adobe Digital Editions. Learn how to get started with older Kobo ereaders here.

I know that I can't use overdrive directly. I am downloading to Adobe Digital Editions and then transferring. I have used the same procedure for 9 years now.
I signed out of my Kobo account and signed back in. Things seem to be working, but now my books are all out of order. I dislike the new slider tab so searching for my books is even more of a pain. Wish they could update without screwing up my ereader.

Updated my Libra H20 yesterday, and noticed in the settings I now have an Micro SD card showing as well as the internal memory. I can't recall seeing this before?

Also noticing the device seems a lot slower to react to selections now, for example pressing the new Home option it takes a good 2 seconds to for anything to happen. Same with putting the device to sleep by pressing the power button, the text of the book I'm reading stays on the screen for 2 to 3 seconds before it flashes onto the sleeping/book cover screen. I might look at resetting the Libra if the slowness continues

I have the Libra H2O on the same firmware but my Device Info screen is different, I have Onboard storage but not Micro SD. Maybe you have some custom software installed that's causing that to be displayed?

I have Nickel Menu and a few patches enabled, but the Micro SD was showing just after I updated the firmware and prior to enabling any patches/Nickel menu

Are you using KoboCloud? This was reported as happening here.

Ah yes I'd installed Kobocloud prior to updating the firmware, and it looks like it survived the updated. Uninstalled it and the storage quirk has gone, and the slowdown issue seems resolved as well.

Will continue using ftp to send books to the Libra instead.

If I could swap the Discover button for a My Articles button on the bottom tab bar then my miserable little life would be complete.

From time to time, I download and transfer a library book to my Kobo Aura HD, but then find out that somehow I don't have the rights to the book. Usually, deleting the book and repeating the process solves the problem. For me at least, I haven't noticed that the problem is tied to updating my Kobo.

So, what is the consensus? Is 4.23.15505 a good version for a very basic KA1 user to install?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Why not use Calibre where you can have all the features and the eBook management? FTP is not going to give you any help with eBook management.

I use Calibre to keep all my books organised, but prefer to send any new books via ftp. I find it easier than looking for a micro usb cable, and means I'm only plugging the Libra in to charge every few weeks. Can also ftp and upload the .sqlite file to thekobonotes.com whenever I finish a book.

I don't know if there's a consensus. I like the new firmware better than the previous. Not sure if that is of any help.
