I now see a Tea model (I don't know which model you have, but the one is what I own — a rebranded Touch Lux 3). Also, it appears (as mentioned in an earlier post) that Vivlio no longer supports ascm files (as you say). The manual mentions installing ADE on a Mac or PC for buying books at other bookstores. It looks like they're a closed system now, like Amazon, or Nook or Kobo (with the ability to side-load ePubs but not download them directly to the device). I would definitely buy a PocketBook instead if this is the case.

I download the book (purchased at any bookstore) to my mobile phone and open it with any DRM-enabled reading program (Digital Editions, PocketBook Reader, Tolino...). I go to the corresponding folder where the book is stored and share it with Dropbox. I synchronize my PocketBook device and it's already available. I don't use the computer at all.

(I do the same with Kobo, using Kobocloud).

Sounds good. Will this work with any Kobo, or just the Forma?

I do it with Kobo Clara HD. I really do it with all my PocketBook (Dropbox PocketBook), Tolino (Tolino Cloud) and Kobo (Kobocloud) devices. You just have to use the same ADE account on all devices and share the book once opened with the mobile phone reading program. You can also email the devices, but I prefer to use storage clouds.

I got an answer from vivlio's support service that seems to confirm that vivlio does not support ascm. On top of that, the person who answered me did not seem to be aware that Tea devices do support ascm.
The next time I need a device I'll find a way to buy a pocketbook rather than go through this company.

That sounds like a good solution also, thanks for sharing!

I would like to know that also. In TL3, there's a hidden Adobe folder — .adobe-digital-editions — that has these three files, activation.xml, device.xml and pbactivation.cfg.

The .cfg file is just a text file with these two lines...

Code:
PBActivation=1
UserName=username@yahoo.com
There are a lot of lines that start with "adept:" in the two .xml files, so I'm guessing one or both of these would be the ones copied (maybe all three files?).

The device.xml is tied to the device and shouldn't be worried about. The activation.xml is the file that is created when your device is authorized with Adobe/ADE. That's the one I copy and restore on my ereaders so I don't have to keep using up my authorizations by reauthorizing.

Thanks for the very useful information!
Do you know if one authorization is used up if I deauthorize/reauthorize the same device?

No idea. But if you run out, you just have to contact Adobe to get them to give you some more.

OK that's good to know, thanks!
Anyway I don't care much about which ADE account my epubs are DRMed with so another solution would be to create a new account if I run out of authorizations.

Not a very long-term solution, unless you enjoy keeping track of which books were obtained with which Adobe ID.

I don't remember what are this forum's rule so to be sure not to break them by mentioning something I shouldn't, I'll just say that I use something to allows me not to worry about that.

You are allowed to mention the very useful DeDRM plugin from Apprentice Alf and Apprentice Harper. You can even give links to their blog and their github repository.

You just can't give detailed help on how to use them.
