I think I suggested it be via a tweak to change the column heading, similar to changing the way the default date columns display.

I guess forking means not having any official updates from the time of the fork. In that case, I'm staying on the "official" line. Wish Calibre was like a browser. Then we could install extensions/enhancements.

Well, there are plugins. I guess they are like browser extensions.

Ah, you're right, Sirtel. I use a number of helpful plugins and they are indeed like browser extensions. I suppose PeaceRidge, BetterRed, I and others would love to have such a plugin. It would probably be the simplest plugin in the Calibre Plugin Database, too. (Not simple for me, as I've got no haxxing skilzzz.)

If you did fork Calibre just for one column name, I would think nobody but yourself would use that version. Now if you forked it and kept up with the official changes, then maybe others would use it. But you would have to change the code to check for a new version of your fork instead of a new official version and you would have to compile for Windows, OSX, and Linux. |

I added the ability to remember the width of the on-device column. When the column is visible right-click on the column header and choose "Remember On Device column width". The change will be in the next release.
