That's not currently implemented, but it would be possible. Is there something in specific you want from there?

FWIW... My reader is always in a stand, with the newer readers having the power button on the back or side, it may be inconvenient to take the reader out of the stand for wake/sleep.

My reader is always in a stand, too, but I don't see how 2/3 taps to access a NickelMenu option would ever be more convenient than either a single press of the on/off button or closing a sleepcover.

yes actually there is one particular thing i would like from the dev options. As i stated somewhere previously on a post (not sure if its on this thread or not) i have added the force ForceAllowLandscape parameter in the kobo config file which enables the possibility to have landscape. While having this enabled and tinkering around in the dev options i realised there is the possibility to have inverted landscape enabled...hence this is why i would like quicker access to the dev options, or better yet have inverted orientation in the home screen.

Why would you do that?

i have both power off and reboot options present in the home screen, i assumed having the sleep function would be also beneficial rather then having the autosleep due to inactivity be triggered. i tried to enable the lockscreen function but didnt see any noticeable change

Again, for me...

For my current stand, it is more of a holder: the back is covered, and the sides are covered/slots. I only take it out of the stand when I'm out and about. There would be no way to access the back or side of the reader without sliding it out of the stand. And I do not have a sleep cover, nor want a sleep cover, or any cover of any kind.

So for me, 3 presses to wake/sleep would be more convienent then: slide the reader out, push the button, slide the reader back in.

I currently have a Glo HD, and the power button is on the top.

Edit: I am referring to what I would like for a possible future, I don't currently need it.

NickelMenu v0.3.0

This release improves the documentation and has a lot of internal refactoring and cleanup. There should not be any noticeable change for users.

• Breaking change: Support for being loaded using LD_PRELOAD or /etc/ld.so.preload has been removed. This has been deprecated and unused since the initial release, so it will not affect any current users.
• Error handling has been refactored.
• Most general hook-related code has been refactored into a new NickelHook library, which is now used by other mods like NickelSeries and kobo-dotfile-hack.
• There are various improvements to the documentation including more information on how to launch other software.
• NM_CONFIG_DIR can now be set from the Makefile when building (but this is highly discouraged).

If sleep was available from the menu, I might use it, maybe I could stop wearing out my power button for that.

I have a sleep cover, but it false triggers far too often.

Next week's release (v0.3.1) will include a new sleep action, and a nickel_orientation action which supports portrait/landscape/inverted portrait/inverted landscape on all devices. Feel free to give feedback on the in-progress orientation action.
