This was Simmons' first(?) book and is somewhat controversial due to the themes of the book. But it is also widely praised.

This is a collection of two of John's novels: Midnight and Escape From the Living Dead. Midnight was originally published in 1980. I think Escape... is newish (this collection was published in 2013).

Likely his best book after Ghost Story. Four Vietnam vets tracking a former brother-in-arms that may have become a serial killer. Highly recommended.

The book is listed as the first in a trilogy. Really, it stands alone. He later wrote other novels that feature some of the characters from Koko, but they aren't quite direct sequels.
