Nathan at The eBook Reader has a post, Why Did Amazon Drop “Special Offers” Terminology from Kindles?, about Amazon replacing the term "Special Offers" with "Ad Supported". Personally, I like it. Special Offers always seemed sleazy and misleading to me. |

I purchased a kindle on Monday this week, and it was special offers then, so it is a very recent change. Definitely more honest, which is a good idea. Not sure if it's an indicator of imminent book covers as screen savers, or if that is wishful thinking on Nathan's part. I hope he's right. |

I remember when Kindle owners were offered “Special” stuff. It’s been years since that has happened.
