Looking into Bambook notebooks, which is an erasable notebook. My sister got one and showed it to me yesterday and I think it will work for me. I can't remember the last time I took notes I needed to keep. I like to make lists, of things I need to do, need to get, price lists of things I want to buy, comparison lists, etc. Being able to erase will save a lot of paper.

You can get them in different sizes and with different types of pages (lined, blank, grid, etc). There's also a planner available. If you want to save a note there's an app for that. I think I'm going to get the one where you can choose 4 different types of pages (10 pages of each) and see what works. I can always order other notebooks if needed, but I think a mix is a good way to start. I'm going to go for the to do list, lined, blank and dotted pages I think.

Just back from what has become my weekly shopping trip. Shops okay, everyone being sensible etc. But then in one shop, two disreputable looking blokes tried to snatch a tray of instant coffee jars (one dozen, I think) and run from the shop.
The female shop worker tried to stop them, and the jars went all over the floor.
None of them broke, and the scumbags made their escape, despite a large burly bloke trying to grab one of them. No jars broken, and the shop worker was visibly shaken, but unharmed.

Packing. Tonight after work I'm heading to my sister's place. We're going to watch Hamilton and play Animal Crossing together. I'm staying the night and tomorrow we'll head back home and watch Formula 1 with my parents. Or rather, my father watches F1, my sister and I will be playing Animal Crossing and my mother will be surfing on her tablet.

I just ordered my sister's birthday present. She's getting a colour fan deck (for house painting).

A while back she decided she wanted to repaint the accent walls in the bedrooms and living room in her apartment. She ordered various paint samples but didn't find one she really likes (she's got textured walls, which makes paint look darker than it is). I jokingly said I was going to get her a colour fan deck for her birthday. She liked the idea. I recently asked her if she still wanted one and she did.

I still have a little bit left over of her birthday budget, so now I'm looking for a fun, small gift.

Relaxing with a coffee in front of my pc, having just returned from a brisk(ish) four mile walk in beautiful sunshine! Mind you, it has rained for most of the week preceeding this, so a pleasant change!

F1 is particularly boring this year. Ever since they "locked" the engines a few years ago and Mercedes ended up 0.5 seconds/lap faster than everyone else and engine development wasn't allowed to happen...well, it's like watching a high-speed parade with pretty much the same results, over and over and over and over and over. Speaking of over, I'm pretty much, yup, over it.

To be honest, we're only watching because Verstappen has been doing well these last couple of years. Before that it didn't interest my father. Both my mother, sister and I aren't huge fans, but when there's something happening in the race it's a nice family activity.

Today was especially boring. I went to my room to read after half an hour. I find it hard to concentrate on my reading with the car noise, and when my father started on the crackers it was time for me to leave. He manages to crunch on a banana, can you imagine what eating crackers sound like. It sends my misophonia into hyper drive.

Relaxing today after church, and a phone call with son #2 who lives in another state.

Hubby took his 90 year old mother to the eye doctor yesterday, being permitted to get her out of the nursing home she moved to March 2nd, two weeks before the covid shut down. It was nice for him to be able to see her face to face for the first time in 4 months. She did ok, but isn't nearly as mobile as she used to be. The new glasses will help her, the bifocal portion needed adjusted.

Then about 3 in the afternoon, my almost 90 year old mom, who lives on her own, called me because she fell while outside. She fell on her left knee, and it looked terrible. I've never seen a knee look so swollen, yikes.

So we spent 4 hours at the ER. They did allow me to stay with her, after screening me for temp etc. We waited about an hour between each step of the process, but her x-rays showed no breaks or issues with her knee cap. She isn't really in any pain either, but she is a tough gal, and wouldn't even sit in a wheelchair while there. Ice/heat, elevate/rest, lather rinse repeat.

Heavy sigh, and thankful everything worked out ok. Kitchen gets measured for new flooring on Tuesday, new porch stoop was poured last week. Hubby is still working from home.

Scratching mosquito bites. I was out on the deck with a mug of tea, my ereader, and an MP3 player. Our native mosquitoes come out at dusk but the Asian Tiger Mosquitoes arrived here about 20 years ago and they don't mind hunting in bright sunlight. They're pretty common, now. I swatted a few of them, but a few of them got me.

Having finally admitted that I am too old to try to continue my daily walks in +90 F/+90% humidity levels, I have acquired a Stamina stationary magnetic flywheel exercise bicycle and have begun my daily rides on it. Very quiet and smooth pedaling.
Not as exciting as outdoor walks, but sure beats getting heat sick.

Getting old sucks.

We have a pair of Concept2 machines for just this reason - we have a BikeErg and a Rower and around May of every year, all the workouts move inside until around late September.

And I just finished rowing my morning 5k. Since my job has moved remote, I row 5k in the morning and bike 20k at lunch.

I'm dying my hair. For the first time I'm using Lunar Tides semi-permanent dye. It's not aggressive as normal hair dye and it should last six to eight weeks.

I've got the colour Blood Moon. I have light brown hair, so it shouldn't be too bold. It doesn't smell like normal hair dye, it applies like a conditioner or a hair mask. It also isn't irritating my scalp, which is a nice change.

Lunar Tides also has a nice dark grey I want to try out, but the red will need to be gone completely. The grey has blue tones, mix that with red and you end up with purple hair. So that will be a project for later in the year.

Whilst waiting I'm looking at various vacation parks. I've decided that once it's safe again I'm going to splurge on a vacation. Booking a nice, luxurious cottage/bungalow/apartment. I'm not expecting it to be soon, hopefully autumn 2021. Until that time I'll put aside money regularly.

Warning, warning, Will Robinson!

It's true that temp colors aren't quite like permanent--but they don't really "wash out" as you are expecting. Reds and purples, in particular, seem to last FOR-ever. I don't mean that the hair will stay that same luscious shade; but I do mean that you may find that your hair is slightly different forever, until it's grown out and cut off.

I have yet to see any temp color like that, that truly washes away as if it were never there.

So...make sure you really like that color, before you try it. Or, perhaps, try it on a chunk of hair, like a streak first and see what it's done in 4 weeks.

Just a suggestion. ;-)
