We never had the need for a name before, not sure if we even need one now. Mostly we just get together at the Friends Meeting House or the Uni-Uni Community Hall and talk things out. Government service is a responsibility taken on in addition to what you normally do, not something that provides all of your substance. Where over 90% of the population does not pay taxes and expects the less than 10% remaining to pay for all of the government without having a say in the organization or functioning of the government, civil unrest or collapse will follow.

Neko, you are more than welcome. Your simple affirmation is all that is required since it would be taken with an open heart. From you I have no doubt that that is true.

There are no formal titles or job descriptions, people do what needs to be done and then go back to their normal lives. No one here makes a profession out of governing.

Hmmph! Sounds like some sort of commie New Athens or platonic Utopia or something. It'll never last.

Rather than overtax the people here we have Krispy Kreame Donut stores, a brewery, a distillery, and a drug manufacturing plant. It is amazing how much of the stimulus money from MR has already flowed in to this area. From the published reports, it seems that we have already gotten over two-thirds of it.

This means that we can afford the finest defensive hardware -- not that we would need much against your sling-shots, hula-hoops, and frisbee throwers. We just completed our new digital television station and satellite relay system so if you can find the funds we will be happy to sell you some bandwidth to replace your 56k dial-up Internet service that the palace is currently using. (Yes, we have spies there too.)

This week's special is a dozen glazed for $2.50. Cash only. No IOUs or credit.
Sounds pretty good.

I thought we needed the boarders in order to pay the rent.

Utopia? No. One person's utopia is the next person's hell.

There are people in the employ of the government such as the defense forces; however, they are not the same ones as setting the policy.

I know those people. Let's think of that as a "glass half full" scenario. Otherwise AM would be running off declaring war on everyone just to play with her toys. The Queen would have to learn to lob squirrels from a trebuchet. I might have to pay some of them, instead of telling them to loot the treasures of fallen enemies for their salaries.

I think the deal was she'd stop complaining about the lack of guinea pig

Speaking of which, where's the trebuchet? *ducks*

No no no .... can't have it there ... it's covering up either Harv or Vera.

I'll probably never pay taxes, but I might stop complaining .... maybe.
