Do Prime Reading books come back if I rejoin?

I'm not sure if this is the right place for an Amazon ecosystem question rather than a Kindle hardware question, but:

Does anyone know if your Prime Reading library is restored if you leave Prime and rejoin later? (Presumably the same rule would apply to KU and maybe KOLL? I didn't notice with KOLL last time I let my membership lapse.)

I don't know if I want to continue my Prime membership immediately, but I also don't think I'm likely to read all 9 of my current Prime Reading loans before my subscription expires. Some of them are no longer available to borrow, so I was wondering if they would carry over a period a non-membership, in the same way that my Playstation Plus library does.

Prime Reading, Kindle Unlimited, and Kindle Owners' Lending Library, are borrowing programs. You've borrowed those books, and they are removed from your account when you subscription to the program expires.

My experience with KU is that many times books in that program also have their prices drop, sometimes to zero. If and when that happens, I sometimes "buy" the book for free instead of borrowing it, so it stays on my account. There are some authors I've come to enjoy who use KU.

You can keep them in the library if you get samples, and then reborrow them if and when you renew your subscription. Or stick the books into a wishlist. At least for KU, if you make notes or highlights, after you return the book, next time you reborrow them or buy them it keeps the notes and such.

But do the notes/highlights get kept if you cancel Prime/KU?

Yes, until you rejoin or choose to buy the book. At least that is how it is advertised. I believe it also works for regular library books as well.
