Power Indicator Light

Apologies in advance if this has been previously answered or covered in another string, but I didn't have any luck finding an answer.

Is there a patch available, or possibly a change to the .conf file, that would allow the power indicator light to be on while charging regardless whether the Kobo was in sleep mode (right now the power indication light only displays when the Kobo is in sleep mode). In other words, I'd like to be able to see the light (while charging) when I'm reading/using the Kobo.

Ok, not sure about the aura one LE, but the standard Aura One does have a square light the glows when charging, turning green when charged.
On the forma, the light is on the power button, no idea if it lights when charging, I normally plug it in for an hour or so, i haven't fully charged the device since it's initial charge when I first got it in April.
No idea about the H2O.

I know where the power indicator light is located for each of my devices. My question is whether it can be "on" when charging, regardless of whether it is or is not in sleep mode. The only time it's visible is while in sleep mode.

If you enable developers mode, the power management logging option changes the behaviour of the light. But, I don't remember exactly what the change is.

With my Libra H20, the only time the power light appears to be used is when it blinks for a few seconds during power up. I never power down my reader, so I'd forgotten that it was even there.

If a Kobo reader is plugged in, doesn't it always charge, whether it's "connected" or when reading? The battery indicator on my Libra H20 would seem to suggest that.

It’s always charging if plugged in and the battery needs to charge.

However if you plug it in and use it as you would normally the charge light indicator is off (the LED on the power button). The on screen battery indicator should show if it’s charging as well. Though when reading you’d have to bring up the menus to see the battery indicator and then dismiss them, easier to tilt the device and see the LED as on to see if it’s still charging.

Not that I’m sure it’d turn off once the battery was full.

Personally I have little use for the light, I’ll charge my Kobo over night when it gets low on energy. Since it charges to full from zero in less time than I sleep I wake up to a fully charged device.

Well of course it always charges (assuming nothing is wrong with the battery or cable!) but in my case the charging light only displays when the Kobo is in "sleep mode". If I'm reading and charging at the same time the light is not on. To be fair to Kobo, the battery symbol does have the lightning bolt indicator. Perhaps my type A is in overdrive on this one!

I don't see the light on my Libra H20 when charging in sleep mode. Like I mentioned above, the only time the light blinks is on power up.

Is the goal to be able to disconnect the cable once it's been charged to 100%?

There's a setting to disable the light when charging even in sleep mode. Just not one to show it regardless of sleep/wake when plugged in.

The other possibility is you wouldn't see the light while charging if you have a skin on the Libra. Another curious headscratcher as to Kobo's choice of location for the power indicator light on the Libra as compared to its location all their other models. My Decal Girl skin just arrived for my Libra, and it does not have a cut out for the light, which is right above the topmost page turn button. The Decal Girl skin for the Aura One has cut outs for the power light and auto brightness sensor.
