I have enabled "Upload Black and White Covers", yet covers are still full-color.

I'm running Calibre v4.18.0 on linux. KTE driver is 3.2.9 (currently beta).

In [Collections, covers & uploads] tab, I have checkmarks for the [Upload Covers] and all 5 options within that section, including "Upload Black and White covers" Yet when I examine the kepub on my Kobo in calibre viewer (while computer is connected to Kobo), the cover is still full-color. Also, while we're at it, can we add the option to make all images (images in the book) to be grayscale too, to save on storage space? |

But what I still don't understand: What's the point of generating grayscale images in the first place, if not to save space on the Kobo? |

All the options have tooltips. You might want to check what they say about quality and size. |

The bottom line of that error is clear. The user has not complied with the PI requirements: a minimum of V2.6 of Calibre. They have 2 choices: 1) don't use this PI. 2) Do what is needed to upgrade their Calibre. Their reason is not our concern. |

This works OK for Windows because there's basically only one kind of Windows, but there are many different kinds of Linux, and they're all potentially slightly different. For that reason there's no simple download you can put on a website that would work on all Linuxes. Linux basically uses app stores (since way before Apple coined the term "App Store") - each managed by whoever publishes that particular brand of Linux. The problem is that in this case they don't seem to be doing a great job of publishing Calibre correctly to their users.

That's why Flatpak is cool - it's a kind of app store that works for pretty much all kinds of Linux. |

After far too long, a new version is finally published. Calibre should offer it in the next couple hours. This fixes problems with spans being added in the wrong place, and an occasional issue where calibre expects to be able to call the logger object directly.

				Problem downloading new plugins?

Is there a problem with Calibre 4.18 and updated plugins? I've read that the KoboTouchExtended plugin and the KePub Output Plugin have both been updated and Calibre is not notifying that there are plugin updates.
