[GUI Plugin] Find Duplicates

Does anyone know, in a cross library search, how can i delete library's that are listed in the dropdown box for "compare with library"?

AFAIK you can't removing libraries from this plugins list of libraries, other than by removing them from calibre's 'master' library list.

To remove a library from calibre's 'master' library list, click the library icon's drop down arrow, select the Remove library option, and then select the library you want to remove. This remove its path from from calibre's 'master' library list, but it will not delete the library from storage.

The list is populated by those 'Known'
I f you have moved, detached the drive, or just deleted, You purge the entry using the Remove option. This only removes the linkage entry (was created with Create/Switch). If you really wan the Library gone, follow the advice displayed

I had completely forgotten about this. I'll try and do it over the weekend. And I have at least one other Python 3 beta out there I'll need to find.

My question is similar to the one asked by mariekes on 04-18-2020, 08:47 PM.

Where is the list of previously searched libraries stored?
The directories shown in the drop down list have no connection with calibre's 'master' library list and appear to be stored in a separate file used by this plug in.
The image below shows a list of 6 directories which include 2 non-existent (phantom) directories.



I have tried uninstalling the plugin, restarting calibre and reinstalling the plugin, but the phantoms directories are still there.

@davidfor - re the problem reported by mariekes and bmcs. I am seeing this in the select library drop down:



I would expect to see something like this list from gui.json

Perhaps you could look into why this is happening? Maybe something changed in a recent release. I stopped using Find Duplicates->Library Duplicates feature when DaltonST released CalibreSpy.

After closing calibre, I was able to remove the lineedit_history_find_duplicates_plugin:library_du plicate_combo block, and then use the browse button to locate one of my existing libraries with no side effects. That of course recreated the list in history.plist. I'm hesitant to suggest mariekes and bmcs do similar before you respond.

Thanks for the pointer BetterRed. A simple edit of the erroneous path strings in history.plist solves the issue.

I was supposed to release the Python 3 compatible version over the weekend, but, got distracted and didn't before the question about the library list came up. And then got distracted by that. So...

Attached is a beta that allows removing old entries from the library list in the find library duplicates function. With this, when the library list is displayed, pressing the delete key will remove the currently selected entry. To do this, click the arrow to show the list (BR: press ALT+down arrow, though you probably know that), then use the arrows to select an entry. Pressing the delete key will remove that entry from the list.

There are no other change since the last beta. Unless anyone sees an issue with this, I'll release it in a few days.

The link didn't work, so, I don't know what was there. But, the work to do the translations properly hadn't been done. Nearly all the strings had been marked ready for translations, so there wasn't much work to do. The attached beta is now translatable. And I have attached the translation (with extension txt) file for you to work with.

Version 1.6.7 seems OK, but doesn't appear to allow removing old entries from the library list in the find library duplicates function.

That was an error in handling the translations. And I remember looking at it and thinking I had to come back to it.

I also found another error due to adding the translations that wasn't actually a translation. And a complete dialog that wasn't been translatable (sorry @dunhill).

The attached beta has these fixed and the Spanish translation done by @dunhill. Hopefully that fixes everything.

This beta doesn't throw any errors. Maybe I am missing something (very likely), but how can it be used to remove old erroneous entries from the library list?
