The first-in-series is on sale again at $1.99. Be forewarned, though - the rest of the titles in this series don't go on sale very often, at least in the US, and when not on sale they are $10 and up. So if you get hooked on this series, you may need to cross your fingers for your local library, or be very patient, or spend lots of money. This is why I've only read about half of them.

I'm actually getting to looking at the Kindle UK monthly crime/mystery deal sooner than a day or two before the end of the month! An interfaith wedding, local politics, and a lethal hit-and-run case keep Rabbi Small busy in this mystery in the New York Times–bestselling series.

The ninth in the series, but they are all stand-alone mysteries. I do recommend them in series order as unlike many detective series, in this series we see the detective age as time progresses.

Elaine Viets has been putting some of the early titles in her Dead End Job series on sale or free from time to time for quite a while. Now there is a collection of the first seven titles in the series going for free right now at Kindle US and UK. Titles are in the blurb below.

I read several of these books back in DTB days, and enjoyed them, so I've been happy to pick them up one-by-one, but now here are a bunch of them all at once for free. Just guessing, but these are probably all the ones that she has been able to get the rights back for.

The Pyramid of Mud is the 23rd-ish (depending on whether you count a book of short stories) in the excellent IMO Inspector Montalbano series by Andrea Camilleri. This is one of a very few I still need in the series, so I was really happy to see it drop to £0.99 at Kindle UK.

Gatekeeper is the fourteenth and St. Albans Fire is the sixteenth in Archer Mayor's really enjoyable (IMO) Joe Gunther police procedural series. Each has dropped to $0.99 as a US Kindle Countdown deal for about a day and a quarter more. Several years ago, Mayor ran through putting all of the early titles in his series (which he appears to have gotten the rights back to) on sale, but recently, there have only been scattered sales. But, anyway, it's nice to see a couple at this nice price.
