A longtime ditherer here, still toying with getting a Libra - will the origami cases shown work in portrait mode with the buttons on the left? The image shows the buttons on the right, I would need to be able to have the case hold the device in portrait mode with the buttons on the left.

Thank you for checking, I’ve looked at so many cover listings and none showed vertical except that single picture on the Kobo website. Now all I have to do is wait for my reader to get here, the tracking says 2-9 days. I have a feeling San Diego is closer to nine days than two.

@MarciaCat Please note my original post. The third party cases that are of the same design as Kobo's, specifically the fold lines, work in the same way -- either portrait or landscape mode. However, they are definitely more flimsy (thinner) in comparison. The Kobo is superior in build and materials and more robust. If you will be utilizing the stand feature I would highly recommend the better quality Kobo official case. You will not be disappointed. |

I'm a Californian thinking of ordering from Indigo, too, MarciaCat. 2-9 days doesn't seem so bad. Their website suggests it can be longer than that to the US. It's much easier to get Kobo devices in Canada than in the US. How much did they charge for shipping?

$19.67CAD, less than $15USD. My total, paid through Paypal, came to $168.12USD. Using the San Diego sales tax rate of 7.75%, I saved $15.04 over buying in the US. I’ll be sure to post once it arrives so you’ll have a better idea of actual shipping time. They gave an estimated delivery date of June 24 but I’m sure it’s gonna be here before that, 2-9 business days from when it shipped is June 16.

So I've been looking into alternatives with Indigo being an appealing one. Their customer service phone number is down because of the pandemic, too. I see that it would be $118 delivered, pretty much the same as Walmart's original price, but minus the tax. Not nearly as good as the sale price, but I'd feel better than I'd feel buying from Walmart. Back to something resembling the original post, I already have the Kobo branded case for the Clara HD, which I'll return if I never get the device. It feels solid and the reading stand, which is not the origami style, is pretty stable and usable. Aesthetically, it's not exciting, but it would appear that it'll do the job. I've never bought any of these covers for any device that was all that durable. I got a pricey name brand one for an iPad that didn't hold up much better than the Amazon ones do. I really like my Libra cover better than all of my old reader's covers. The many ways I can fold it to support it in hand or on a table. When it goes to sleep, close then open cover is easiest way to quickly restart reading. I also like page turn buttons giving me a great option. I can read on one of my tablets or computers but ereaders are best. Amazon has better dictionary than Kobo readers.

I haven’t had an OEM cover since my beautiful red Sony PRS-600 when Sony had fancy Dooney & Bourke embossed leather covers in red and black. Last edited by MarciaCat; 06-05-2020 at 05:19 AM. | ||

				Both Arrived Today!

Talk about perfect timing, the cover arrived about 1-1/2 hours before the reader arrived in a poorly packed oversized box that had no filler to keep the contents from shifting or the box from being partially crushed and gaping open, necessitating the post office to use a couple yards Priority Mail tape on it as shown in the pictures below. Luckily the reader was well packed inside it’s box! I got it all set up in no time and checked out a couple Overdrive library books. It’s now charging up, it came about 60% charged. I look forward to putting it through it’s paces and loading some of my Calibre library tonight and in the coming days. Skydog, you were right, I love the Kobo cover!
