Email notifications for gravitytales.com
From some month ago the links of new chapters of novel in the email notifications of Gravity Tales (gravitytales.com) aren't detected when getting the url from emails.
Probably it didn't hep that the link in the email notification point to a post instead of a chapter or the table of content of the novel. These are examples of the links: Example of link in the email notification: http://gravitytales.com/post/immorta...c-chapter-1789 Example of the actual chapter link: http://gravitytales.com/novel/immort...c-chapter-1789 Example of the actual novel table of content link: http://gravitytales.com/novel/immort...al-cultivation Thanks in advance for such awesome piece of software. |

New Test Version Posted
2020-05-19 - Allow /post/ story URLs with adapter_gravitytalescom. I could argue that FFF isn't detecting story URL links in the email because they aren't story URL links. The one with '/post/' in it doesn't go to the chapter or even the story, it goes to a post about the new story chapter. It only took looking at one other 'Recent Posts' to find that post URLs aren't identical to chapter URLs. But the ones I've looked at do appear to still share the story URL prefix. So we'll try allowing them and see how it goes. |

(name -> type -> example for content) chapterslashtotal -> Text, column shown in the tag browser -> 6/6, 4/4, 6/6, 17/17 Chapters -> Integers -> 33 chapterstotal -> Text, column shown in the tag browser -> 6, 4, 6, 17 In column "Chapters" it adds them together if it´s an anthology. But that happens for new and updated anthologies. What type did you set your column "chapterslashtotal" ? |

A few days ago, I downloaded a fic on FFNet that had ~250 chapters, which took close to a half hour to download. Since then, I've noticed FFF has been far slower in downloading any fic from that site, although I can still access it via browser.
Is it possible that I tripped some sort of rate limiter? |

I am having an issue figuring out how to filter some tags into the proper column without them going into another.
Basically when pulling a story from dark-solace.org it gets all metadata as categories. I'd like to have their Alternate Universe tag filter into genres and the rest of their tags such as Claim and Season 4, etc. filter into my custom 'work tags' column. As it stands now I can get them to filter into work tags, but they *also* show as Fandom (which is populated by category). If I tell it to add_to_exclude_metadata_post category=~Season for example it then removes it from both work tags and Fandom. I am including my ini here, but it is a bit of a mess. Here is a link to a SFW story with relevant metadata. I do hope I was able to explain what is happening and what the expected behavior is. Last edited by Loba; 05-22-2020 at 06:18 PM. |

When you use include_in_tags:tags,genre,category,warnings, all of the replace_metadata and include/exclude lists are still applied to each of the metadata entries called before they are added. What you probably need is to use is something like: include_in_tags:tags,genre,category.NOREPL,warning s Any time you append .NOREPL to a metadata entry in an include_in_X line, that will suppress the edits being done to it for that use. |

Hello!
I was wondering if there was any way for the plug-in to show if a fic has been completed or if it's a WIP? I was thinking of creating a custom column for this, to be able to filter out complete or WIP fic. I know how to create a custom column. I'm just wondering if there's a way to be able to do it with the plug-in? Thank you! |

By default, status is one of the metadata entries populated into Calibre's Tags column. You can also populate status into a custom column from FFF Config under the Custom Columns tab. Note that FFF only populates Calibre columns on story download or update. However, you can setup an FFF 'Saved Metadata Column' (FFF Config under the Custom Columns tab toward the bottom). Once that column is populated (by FFF download or update), you can use the 'Update Calibre Metadata from Saved Metadata Column' update mode to update other columns without needing to fetch from the sites again. For FFF saved metadata, you want Column Type long text. Set the "Interpret as" to HTML if you want it to be easily readable, but don't try to edit what FFF puts in that column then--Calibre will change the formatting and it won't work anymore for FFF. |

I tested it on a WIP fic and a complete fic and the status automatically showed up for both. I do need to go and manually edit the metadata for what I have already downloaded - when I tried to do it in bulk, the option wasn't appearing. But it shouldn't take me too long to do it manually. Thanks again! |

I'm back with another question!
I know Calibre allows you to search for fandom and relationships via the search bar - which I love! However I'd like to set up custom columns for these. I created two columns, and ensured they were configured correctly in FFF. Relationships is set to Relationships, and fandom is set to Category. However I'm wondering if I've input the columns wrong now, as nothing is appearing. I've added both the Relationship and Category columns as "Long Text, like columns, not shown in the tag browser" and interpreting the column as HTML. I'm fairly certain I've done that wrong, so any advice there would be appreciated. Is there a way to sort this so that the fandom and relationship for every fic will automatically appear, as doing this manually may take some time. Thank you! |

FYI, I would recommend against putting those in Long Text fields in favor of Tag-like text as a general rule. They aren't long texts and Calibre makes it easier to edit tag-like text columns. YMMV.
Just configuring the columns in FFF doesn't fill columns. Remember I said: "Note that FFF only populates Calibre columns on story download or update. " |

I tried downloading a new fic, and it worked fine, the relationship appeared. So now I'm wondering how to make the rest of the relationships for each downloaded fic appear. |
