I'm not getting this error. Even when I run in French mode.

Please run Calibre in debug mode (under Calibre Preferences dropdown), try the download again, and post the debug log here.

- Need to include prefs.py in messages.pot for translation.
- Update Translations.
- Catch exception in exception handling for French user.

That was a weird issue with the error message from an image download failure causing another error because of encoding, but not in English. My solution is rather crude (catching an exception in an exception) but without seeing the error myself it's hard to develop and test anything more elegant.

I'm not sure why, but lately both spacebattles and sufficient velocity are going into Cloudflare protection mode when I'm not using VPN. I know it's a long shot, but is there something you know about that I can do to either avoid that or get a cookie or whatnot once I get past it in a real browser?

This was reported in Issue #488 a couple weeks ago and I don't know anything more than I did then.

Here's the most relevant part:

If you can't access those sites from browser, then you definitely have a problem that is beyond FFF.

I would speculate that you (or someone on your network) was hitting the site hard enough to get on a black list. Or that your network has been preemptively black listed. Or that you are using an anonymizer, proxy, or VPN that looks funny or has been black listed.

Regardless, I don't think it's not an issue I can do anything about in FanFicFare.

- Now actually *use* translated strings in prefs.py.

So it turns out I screwed up including translated versions for a number of strings in FFF. My apologies to the translators whose work went unused all this time.

In case anyone's curious, these are the strings.

Hi!
I noticed that when updating Anthologies through "Update Anthology EPub", that the custom column with "chapterslashtotal" gets strange.

Instead of writing the chapters of several stories (10/10, 5/10) it adds them together (15).

But when you download new Anthologies, it doesn't happen.

I can't duplicate this.

Nor do I see anywhere in the code where it could happen. chapterslashtotal is a string and never gets treated as a number that could be added.

Are you sure you don't also have code to set that column to numChapters sometimes? Although I'm not sure off hand how that would happen either...

Huh. I looked around, and I still had the column to be filled with "Chapters". (In FFF preferences, custom column and there the drop-down menu)

I changed it and everything's fine now.
