If you are reporting a problem, you need to give some details. Posting the full details of the error message will always help. And how you achieved that. And it is also a good idea to read recent posts. The conversion error is probably the one that has been reported several times already.

For opening the kepub, do you mean in the calibre viewer? Or something else? And again, were there any errors.

Both of those are the same issue that has been reported for this and the other kepub related plugins. It is an issue with how Windows handles unicode and preparations for the Python 3 version of calibre. It is being worked on, but, there is a workaround mentioned in the extended driver thread.

That is actually the Kepub Input plugin. Make sure that you have updated that.

I´d installed the latest kepub input plugin 3.2.7. (see attachment-picture) but it´s still not working. I have only kepub files in my library. No epubs, mobis whatever,... only kepubs. And non of them is going to work with the calibre-viewer. Please help!

I have no Problem opening Kepubs.
I have the same plug-ins like you. My Kepubs are converted epubs. I have both in my library, but I can open them separately.

As I said, you are posting in the wrong place. The plugin at fault is the INPUT plugin. Though I had forgotten that it showed me as the author.

But, that isn't the same error as we have been seeing. It is probably caused by the "ä" in your username. Using a temporary directory that was outside of you user directory, and didn't have any characters from the extended character set would probably work. But, I'll discuss it with @jgoguen as I did notice something else.

It is an issue with how Windows handles unicode and preparations for the Python 3 version of calibre. It is being worked on, but, there is a workaround mentioned in the extended driver thread.
