Indeed, but since I don't know how to format and install an operating system, I won't try to upgrade the OS. Especially when I have no need for it.

Coming back to Calibre and the plugin, I'm using the portable version of calibre. does that have any impact on the bug? Is there a different workaround?

While waiting for a solution to this bug, I've just reinstalled the version 3.1.5 (attached file) and it works.

Upgrading Windows 8.1 is very easy. I've upgraded Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 to Windows 10.

here’s how you get your Windows 10 free upgrade:

Click on the Windows 10 download page link here
Click 'Download Tool now' - this downloads the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool.
When finished, open the download and accept the license terms
Choose: 'Upgrade this PC now' then click ‘Next’
Choose ‘Keep personal files and apps’
Click ‘Install’ (note this takes some time and involves multiple restarts)
Once installed, open: Settings > Windows Update > Activation to activate your Windows 10 digital license...
OR enter your (genuine) Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 product key if you haven’t previously activated your old version of Windows

Upgrading is easy. Liking how everything is changed is hard. I've tried upgrading to Windows 10 several times, and I keep having to go back to Windows 8.1.

How do I reinstall this version? Do I have to delete any file, or just load plugin from file and it will revert to the old version?

Right now my computer stopped recognizing my Kobo... Not sure what happen. I have yet to try it today. Hopefully it will be fixed itself by rebooting.

By the way, I never needed to install "KePub Metadata Reader" and "KePub Metadata Writer", it always worked without them. Do you think I should install them?

Currently in class (via Zoom), will install, but can only test it in a couple of hours. Will let you know as soon as I can test it.
