No Create Index button in Tools Toolbar?

I have been looking for a button in the toolbars to invoke "Create Index" and cannot find one. The "Tools" toolbar has Metadata Editor, Generate Table of Contents, and Spellcheck, but no Create Index.

Also, there is no default keyboard accelerator for Create Index. I assigned Ctrl-Shift-N for that and it appears to work. But a button would be easier since my old brain forgets keyboard accelerators as soon as I learn 'em.

Am I missing something obvious? Is there a button that I have not found? Is there a way I can configure a button for Create Index on a toolbar?

This is not a big deal, but I am curious.

AFAIK there's no way to customise the toolbars, i.e add/delete buttons.

On Windows & Linux - Alt, T(ools), I(ndex), C(reate) - should get you there. Not sure about MacOS.

If someone were to donate svg icons or png icons in 48x48px, 22x22px and 16x16px sizes that were license compatible to Sigil for *all* of the Index functions:

Index Editor
Mark For Index
Add To Index
Create Index

I will happily create an Index Toolbar that can be enabled and disabled just like the other toolbars and add it to Sigil for the next release.

The key point here is consistency with Sigil 1.2.0 current icons.

The menu item is there. I was looking for a one click right up front button since I am basically a lazy person and don't want to go to the trouble of trekking down the menu.

I only use shortcuts for things I use a lot, for the rest I use the Alt, menu option method. And I clear default shortcuts I don't use, so that I don't use them inadvertently.

Oh, and no button bars for me.

No docs but:

1. png with 3 sizes for each: 16px x 16px, 22px x 22px, 48px x 48px (or svg)
2. colours consistent with current icons (See Sigil 1.2.0 icons)
3. the same icon must work under both light and dark theme modes
4. be mnemonic for the function it represents
5. be given to Sigil or available under a suitable license

It's there for me in Sigil 0.9.18.

I gave it a go for some icons. I copied the basic theme and the colors from the current icons in version 1.2.1. I have generated only the 48x48 pixel png files so far since I am just posting some ideas to see what you guys think. If you want to use these I will upload the Inkscape SVG files so that you can modify, adjust, assume ownership, etc.

The basic theme of the design is a picture of an index for Generate Index, and then the same base image with an additional sub image overlaid for the other functions.

If you would like me to try again let me know. If you would rather not follow up on this, that is OK too.

These look okay to me. Do they look okay under Windows and macOS dark themes?

If others concur, I would be happy to use them for the next release.

Hmmm ...
The idea is good, although these superimposed elements are not very compatible with existing icons. I tried to simplify them as much as possible, maintaining legibility and visibility for the user.
I think blue colors will be better for the table of contents icons in the future and the index could be green.
Here is my suggestion.

I agree that the overlaid images on mine look a little cluttered, especially at a small size. Becky's are easier to see at a small size.

Are the icons supposed to have a transparent background? I made mine white. I don't use the dark themes so I am not familiar with what that is supposed to look like.

FWIW I am having trouble understanding what two of them mean, the one with the red tag and the one with the blue chevron. Which is "Generate"? The chevron?

Edit: Now that I say it out loud, the one with the tag would be to tag it, right?
