^ Be aware (Sax Rohmer fans) that the above only has three Fu-Manchu novels in that collection.

Additionally, the texts lack typographer's quotes and there are spaces between the paragraphs (if these two things are bothersome to potential buyers).

A much better - and BIGGER! - collection is the UK Delphi edition.

Twelve titles by Agatha Christie are today's US Kindle Daily Deal, priced at $0.99 - $1.99 each. These are mostly early-ish series titles, and a few are public domain in the US, so proceed with caution.

There are also a few "oddities" - a novella with a complicated back history, a book of Poirot quotes, and a book of "Supernatural Tales".

So YMMV...

Re Elizabeth Peters, it's extremely unusual for any of her books to go on sale. I got an alert earlier and snapped it up.

I might grab the Saylor as well, but I prefer a lower price to replace a print copy.

The Voice of the Violin is the fourth in the excellent IMO Inspector Montalbano series by Andrea Camilleri. It has dropped to $1.99 at Kindle and Kobo US.

Kindle US: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001R9DI84
Kobo US: https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/voice-of-the-violin

Spoiler:
Quote:
Inspector Montalbano, praised as “a delightful creation” (USA Today), has been compared to the legendary detectives of Georges Simenon, Dashiell Hammett, and Raymond Chandler. As the fourth mystery in the internationally bestselling series opens, Montalbano’s gruesome discovery of a lovely, naked young woman suffocated in her bed immediately sets him on a search for her killer. Among the suspects are her aging husband, a famous doctor; a shy admirer, now disappeared; an antiques-dealing lover from Bologna; and the victim’s friend Anna, whose charms Montalbano cannot help but appreciate... But it is a mysterious, reclusive violinist who holds the key to the murder.

Depth of Winter is the fourteenth and noxt-to-most-recent in the Walt Longmire series by Craig Johnson. It has dropped to $1.99 at Kindle and Kobo US.

Kindle US: https://www.amazon.com/Depth-Winter-.../dp/B079WJQY8H
Kobo US: https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/depth-of-winter

Spoiler:
Quote:
Walt journeys into the northern Mexican desert alone to save his daughter Cady, who has been kidnapped by the cartel

Welcome to Walt Longmire's worst nightmare. Winter is creeping closer, but for Sheriff Longmire this one is looking to be harsh in a way to which he is wholly unaccustomed. He has found himself in the remotest parts of the northern Mexican desert, a lawless place where no horse or car can travel, where no one speaks his language or trusts an outsider, far from his friends and his home turf back in Wyoming. But desperate times call for desperate measures. Tomas Bidarte, the head of one of the most vicious drug cartels in Mexico, has kidnapped Walt's beloved daughter, Cady. The American government is of limited help and the Mexican one even less so. Armed with his trusty Colt .45 and a father's intuition, Walt must head into the 110-degree heat of the desert, one man against an army.

Penance by Kanae Minato is $1.99 at Amazon

Quote:
A chilling Japanese psychological thriller and Edgar Award finalist about four women, forever connected by one horrible day in their childhood -- fifteen years later, someone wants to make sure they never forget.

When they were girls, Sae, Maki, Akiko and Yuko were tricked into leaving their friend Emily with a mysterious stranger. Then the unthinkable occurred: Emily was found murdered hours later.

The four friends were never able to describe the stranger to the police; the killer's trail went cold. Asako, the bereaved mother, curses the surviving girls, vowing that they will be the ones to pay for her daughter's murder . . .

Like Confessions, Kanae Minato's award-winning, internationally bestselling debut, Penance is a dark tale of revenge and psychological drama that will leave readers breathless.

Many of these titles have now dropped an additional dollar or so. I've also gotten my Kindle US link to work (a pesky space had snuck in there).

So here's the Kindle US link, and the Kobo US link below still works: http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/?sea...price-asc-rank

So here's the Kobo US link, and for Kindle, you can either go look for yourself, or look at the Kobo list to see what's on sale, and then go find it at Kindle...

Note that the $0.99 title, Skeleton in the Closet, is a short story/novella, even though the blurb calls it a book (#32).

If anyone can get a Kindle link to work, I'd love it if you post it - I have been having real trouble with Kindle searches recently...

Slayer of Gods is the sixth and last in Lynda S. Robinson's Lord Meren series, set during the reign of Tutankhamun, in ancient Egypt. I really liked this series years ago in DTB, so I'm happy to see at least one e-book title drop to a reasonable backlist price, at $1.99.

Spoiler:
Quote:
In the sixth novel of the celebrated series set during the reign of Pharaoh Tutankhamun. Armed with the certainty that Queen Nefertiti did not die of the plague but was murdered, Lord Meren is hot on the trail of her killer. His investigation leads him from the Egyptian countryside to the mysterious tombs of the dead, entangling him in a conspiracy so treacherous he fears for his life.
