My PW4 G000 PP12 9377 just auto updated(maybe my brother do sth -,- ) to 5.12.4 but was jailbreaked. How to check my jailbreak ? KUAL not started, mrpackages folder was empty, and I trying to install by ;log mrpi kual but don't working.

Were you able to get help with this? My Kobo recently died and I'm considering getting the current Paperwhite. I'm unsure what firmware it ships with and if it can be jailbroken or not.

I probably already know the answer to this, but if I have a jailbroken PW4 there's *no reason* to try to upgrade the firmware (currently have 5.11.1). I do almost all my reading from koreader.

Hi, I read several post that someone has been able to jailbreak PW4 on firmware 5.10.3 (that's what I have since I purchased it, never updated it), I have private messaged some of them but I didn't get a response, does anybody know how to do it or there's some guide around? Thanks!

Can someone please clarify what is meant by:
"Do not copy the contents of /documents back to the Kindle until after you have returned to the same firmware version that you copied them from"

Does that mean i can't use those files from the previous firmware or just that i don't copy the whole folder with special indexing files inside?

You can copy the books, but the files in the bookname.sdr folders might not be compatible with the new firmware and should not be copied.

were you able to jailbreak it? im planning to buy that exact version, im also in mexico, well actually im going to get the 32 gb version.

I hope its hackable... i really want to use my own screensaver.
