I've seen this error opening an epub directly on a few occasions. Just this time, it happened consistently when I was opening two newly added epubs. The first one stopped showing the issue after I used the Restructure Epub to Sigil Norm tool, the other one when I modified the epub without the restructure. In both cases, I was cleaning up the drop caps since on my wife's Libra, the drop caps used a cursive font/CSS which took about 5 lines. More a cosmetic issue since clicking on close in the popup opens the epub. |

If it does boil down to epub structure, please let us know. We'll make arrangements to get a copy. Sigil may not be able to fix any and all epub issues automatically, but we certainly don't want it to crash on any epubs!

I'm not certain how an epub's structure could cause a Qt error of that kind. Not one that's fixable by Restructuring to Sigil Norm, anyway. But who knows with Qt anymore.

I've been trying hard, without success, to get Sigil1.2.0 to crash on Windows 10. So far I've tried epubs with both the traditional Sigil structure and non-standard structures. I've tried launching the epubs with Sigil using both Calibre's inherent "Open With" feature, and with the latest version of the third-party Calibre "Open With" plugin. I started with Calibre 4.6 and then moved to the latest Calibre 4.13.
No (non)joy so far. Anyone with crashing issues care to share the output of: Code:
echo %PATH% |

How are you?
Isn't it time to move to a new stage? Of course about decoration. Preparations for the associated processing seem to be proceeding smoothly. [Plugin] cssRemoveUnusedSelectors warnings came out on the way, but it worked for Japanese epub3. ![]() |

A new version of Sigil is always in the works. But if I understand you corrrectly, we're not overly fond of releases that only include cosmetic changes. New features and/or bug fixes are what usually prompts a new version of Sigil being released.

You can also decorate when posting in this forum. Do you think about CSS?
The CSS required for decoration is prepared. We would like to develop new Sigil so that people without CSS knowledge can operate like MS Word. |

You're free to create your own fork of Sigil and customize it to your heart's content. But Sigil itself is never going to be a program that people without a basic understanding of html and css are going to be able to use. It's not a word processor. Sorry. Those who need that sort of program should look elsewhere.
As far as the CSS for this forum goes... I'm afraid you're barking up the wrong tree. We have no control over how the forum looks/works. We've just been given this space in it to use. |

I think that if you prepare CSS as temple, you can specify the range and decorate it by button operation.
I have said too much without knowledge of CSS. "If we have a simple CSS knowledge" is correct. |

For those who only have a simple knowledge of CSS, it is very helpful to have it prepared in advance.
It is very difficult to add something that you do not have. If it is prepared, you can just erase it when not in use. There is a post like this at Writers’ Corner. “Question CSS - query colour mode on Kindle and iBooks?” It would be nice if the font color could be specified by button operation, like when posting here or decorating with Word. I posted it as a new possibility of Sigil in a regular procedure. If I neglect the procedure, I will regret it later. |

Sigil Windows installer
Hello there,
I have an impression, I’m asking a silly question, but… Is there any ready to use Sigil Windows installer (Win 8.1 64bit)? I checked how to build Sigil on Windows (https://github.com/Sigil-Ebook/Sigil..._on_Windows.md), but I feel overwhelmed by so complex procedure. Regards, Adam |

Welcome to MR!
There very first post in this thread has links to all the Sigil files. If I understand you correctly, there is no need to "build" a windows installer, it is right there on the download page. Sigil-1.2.0-Windows-x64-Setup.exe |
