Dark mode. It might be something new or possibly just another name for the existing color inversion feature.

Progressive downloads. That is already a feature of the iOS and Android apps, allowing you to start reading before the book has completely downloaded over a slow connection.

Like dial-up speeds or comic books etc? Hardly a vital feature for 99.9% of books and user connections?
I suppose it keeps the programming team occupied.

Thanks. Nothing very exciting there for me, I must say.

My PW 3 updated today and, unlike my PW4, it displayed the Text Menu changes right away. Messing with it right now.

Honestly the old menu was a bit quicker and easier to change. This doesn't look bad but it's not helping anything or adding any better purpose that I can see.

Has battery life decreased noticeably with this upgrade? A few weeks ago a couple users said they noticed poorer battery life, but I haven't seen much more about it since -- so I'm hoping it was an anomaly. My Voyage has part of the upgrade downloaded and I'm reluctant to let it finish the process if it's going to decrease battery life.

Two relatively minor software changes I would like to see would be:

More themes - I'm not clear why we're only allowed up to 5

The ability to set different font preferences for each book, so if I switch between two books I'm reading simultaneously it changes automatically, rather than my having to alter manually and/or select a new theme.

My Oasis initially showed poorer battery life after the upgrade, but has settled back to normal.

Good! That's what I was hoping I would hear. I'll go ahead and let the Voyage update.

Thanks for responding.

My two Kindles finally updated the Aa settings. It will take a little getting used to. I had to refresh one of my existing themes to restore its custom font. It is puzzling why there would be a limit of 5 custom themes, which seems too low (but maybe it has always been limited to 5?). 10 would probably be ‘enough’.

I would like more than 5 themes as well. 10 would be enough. There just seems to be no reason why there is such a limit.

My Voyage updated last night. One big advantage (in my opinion) is that now when you close with the font tab open, that's where it will be when you reopen the Aa Menu — you'll directly go to font settings. I never used the theme feature anyhow so that saves a step for me. I still like the way 5.9.7 works better (that's where my Paperwhite 3 was (luckily) frozen). And the Paperwhite 2 is stuck (probably permanently) at 5.12.2 — so I have three different font menu interfaces now.

I had hoped that the Themes option allowed one to use/save the "Invert Black and White" setting found under Accessibility. No such luck.
