Speaking of Norman Prentiss and Cemetery Dance, Life In A Haunted House is on sale for $0.99 at Amazon US.

I don't believe it is exactly a horror novel, but check below for fun add-ons.

Quote:
Brendan has always been fascinated by the low-budget horror films of Bud Preston. Imagine his surprise when he moves to a new town and discovers a high school classmate is the daughter of his favorite director. Melissa Preston’s home contains exciting secrets about such strange films as THE STONE STAIRWAY and THE DUNGEON OF COUNT VERLOCK. But Brendan’s film-fan obsessions threaten to undermine his new friendship...before he can truly understand what it means to spend LIFE IN A HAUNTED HOUSE.
Norm wrote some short novelizations of the Bud Preston movies. They can also be had for $0.99 each:

The Dungeon of Count Verlock
Quote:
This previously unpublished story, an anonymous “novelization” of a movie written and directed by Bud “Budget” Preston, was scheduled to appear in issue 101 of MONSTER PROJECT magazine. I uncovered the story as I was researching my forthcoming novel, LIFE IN A HAUNTED HOUSE, which fictionalizes elements of Preston's life and filmography.

"The Dungeon of Count Verlock" recreates the strange dialogue and haunting low-budget images of Preston's only vampire film, in a self-contained, 9,000 word story.
The Lake Monster
Quote:
"The Lake Monster" recreates the strange dialogue and surreal images of Preston's low-budget monster film, in a self-contained, 9,000 word story.
The Space Visitor
Quote:
"The Space Visitor" recreates the strange dialogue and surreal low-budget images of Preston's only science-fiction film, in a self-contained, 9,000 word story.
The Twisted Face
Quote:
"Oh God, the Twisted Face!" The words of the dying victim naturally point to Arthur Trengrove as a suspect. But as the murders continue, the investigation takes an unexpected...twist.

"The Twisted Face" recreates the strange situations and haunting low-budget images of Preston's only detective thriller, in a self-contained, 11,000 word story.

Lee Mountford, a very fine horror writer, is offering two FREE horror collections at his site.

From his email:

Anyway, I wanted to do something to help people, given all that is happening. And, while I can't do much, I can send out some free ebooks and hope that in some small way they bring people joy during a difficult time.

The Hunger is a fantastic book! I just purchased her new book "The Deep" which is good so far. Alma katsu likes to take real history and rewrite it with a tad of horror. The Deep is about the Titanic

The Darkest Lullaby by Jonathan Janz
Amazon US $0.99

Quote:
The old house waited. For years there had been rumors that the owner, Lilith Martin, had been part of an unholy cult. People spoke of blasphemous rituals, black rites filled with blood, sex…and sacrifices. Then Lilith died and the house sat empty. Until now.

Lilith’s nephew, Chris, and his wife, Ellie, are moving in. Ellie isn’t happy about living in such a dark, foreboding place, but she wants to get pregnant and this house has a lot more room to raise a baby than their apartment. Unfortunately, she and Chris will soon learn that Lilith has other plans.

Dark Ride by Iain Rob Wright is on sale for $0.99.

Quote:
Terrifying new horror novel from acclaimed author Iain Rob Wright. Are you brave enough to ride?

'Bright Lights' AJ Starr is a pro wrestler on the rise, and his life is about to change forever. Knowing this, he plans one last party with all of his best friends. The venue? Saxon Hills theme park, abandoned ten years ago after its flagship ride burned down and killed nine innocent people. Some people say the place is haunted, but AJ knows from his time inside the squared circle that fantasy and reality are totally separate things.

Or so he thought.

AJ has no idea how nightmarish things are about to get, and eventually he'll be left wondering whether he brought his friends to Saxon Hills theme park to have fun. Or to die.

Brand new horror novel from Iain Rob Wright. Grab your copy of Dark Ride today because everyone loves a thrill-ride.
I've seen this before. Amazon keeps pushing it on me. But the main character being an up and coming pro wrestler seemed reality breaking to me.

But hey, he gave away something like 20 books for free. I decided to plunk down the $0.99.

Hell House by Richard Matheson is $2.99 at Amazon US.

Quote:
"Hell House is the scariest haunted house novel ever written. It looms over the rest the way the mountains loom over the foothills." -- Stephen King

Rolf Rudolph Deutsch is going die. But when Deutsch, a wealthy magazine and newpaper publisher, starts thinking seriously about his impending death, he offers to pay a physicist and two mediums, one physical and one mental, $100,000 each to establish the facts of life after death.

Dr. Lionel Barrett, the physicist, accompanied by the mediums, travel to the Belasco House in Maine, which has been abandoned and sealed since 1949 after a decade of drug addiction, alcoholism, and debauchery. For one night, Barrett and his colleagues investigate the Belasco House and learn exactly why the townfolks refer to it as the Hell House.

An author I've been looking at, Cameron Robique has all four of his books set at $0.99. These are books intended to give the vibe of an 80's horror flick.

Kill River
Quote:
In the summer of 1983, thirteen-year-old Cyndi and her three new-found friends, Stacy, Zack, and Brad decide to sneak away from their summer camp in the middle of the night by rafting down the nearby rivers. After spending a tense night lost in the woods, the four teenagers stumble into a mysterious water park that appears to be completely empty.

At first they are thrilled to have the rides all to themselves, at least until one of them disappears. Soon they discover that they are trapped in the park, and a dark figure is stalking them from the shadows, picking them off one by one. Once night falls, Cyndi will have to fight to escape the park, a masked maniac, and a living nightmare.

Kill River is a wild water park ride filled with blood, gore, and '80s nostalgia. Slasher fans rejoice, old school horror is back!
Kill River 2

Disco Deathtrap
Quote:
It's New Year's Eve 1980, and the students of DeAngelo High School are lacing up their skates for the All-Night New Year's Lock-In at the Rollerville Roller Disco. Some of them just want to skate and dance the night away to the pounding disco music. Some want to pull a few pranks and have a few laughs. For others, like Dan Parsons, tonight is a chance to move on and forget about his ex-girlfriend, maybe even flirt with Denise, that cute girl behind the snack counter. It seems like nothing can go wrong.

But there's a massive blizzard raging outside, thick snow and ice are piling up against all the doors. There are those rumors that Rollerville was built over part of the old graveyard next door, and someone out there is watching. Also, a strange homeless man in the parking lot says that tonight will be the start of the so-called "Year of Blood."

A night of skating and New Year's fun is about to turn into a night of violence and bloody mayhem in Disco Deathtrap.
Golf Curse
Quote:
Ronnie has the perfect summer job at the Indian Hill Golf Course. All day he gets to ride around on mowers and golf carts, check out the beautiful drink cart girls, joke around with his best friend Mark, and get plenty of fresh air and sunlight.

That all changes when a huge late spring hailstorm blows in one night, leaving the golf course in shambles. As they clean up all the limbs and downed trees, Ronnie and Mark learn about the Native American Kikawa tribe that was brutally massacred at the top of the hill near the seventeenth green, and the evil medicine man known as Chief Tomahawk who supposedly put a curse on the land. It seems that the curse may prove to be real as the golf course is dogged with bad luck, and a dark figure wearing a wooden Chief's mask and a black-feathered headdress is watching them from the shadows.

Now, in preparation for the biggest golf tournament of the year, Ronnie and the maintenance crew have to come in and work through the night. They are about to find out that Chief Tomahawk has returned, and he wants revenge for his slaughtered people.

Yeah, just yesterday I bought Kill River for the now OUTRAGEOUS price of $3.99. I haven't read it yet, but the description and cheesy cover tells me they are worth a look.
