Forma what can you do with devmode?

And if you want something like telnet and FTP, installing a SSH server or using rclone serve sftp is a lot more useful for 99.9% of uses.

In another thread, I read that when dev mode is on, suduku is added to the beta list. is this not the case?

That's new for the latest firmware. Also, you've always been able to enable those games using the patches.

And, one warning about enabling dev mode: don't do it if you connect to untrusted networks. It gives full, unsecured, unauthenticated remote access to everything on your Kobo.

Jesus christ, that's a deal-breaker. any way to fix? did not know that. how can you do the patch? I really don't understand kobo modding.
there are 5 things I want to mod
1. games patch
2. Kobo Laucher
3. Pb chess
4. custom images thing
5. know what the hell is up with nickel, what is it?

If the telnet port is already hogged by something, nickel won't mess with it (IIRC, I don't generally use telnet [unless I've severely screwed up my SSH setup], and my own implementation is *also* passwordless
