After a jailbreak install the hotfix. Wait on everything else until you install retail firmware because after installing retail (or any) firmware, any installed packages get wiped out.

@notpika: The hotfix variants are specifically designed to deal with stupid catch-22 after some specific FW version updates.

The JB has one since 5.5 or something, and now KUAL needs one since 5.11 or 5.12 (I can't even remember, everything is terrible).

I've just JB my PW4: 5.10.1.3. I was told to skip the JB Hotfix as it is no longer required and I followed the instructions to install MRPI sucessfully. I've moved onto the KUAL coplate installation and I'm running into an issue. I put the Coplate installation file into the mrpackages folder and type the corresponding ;log mrpi command into search, but it doesn't do anything.

I saw that there was a note about running it via the KUAL hotfix, which I also tried, but the system threw an error about there being an update in the root and deleted it.

Would love to get past this step. Any ideas for how I can force the KUAL install commands some other way?

Well...actually it appears I was supposed to install JB Hotfix. So in case anyone else is having the same problem with the ;log command, it's because you didn't follow the directions. :\

I have always wondered why the owners of an e-reader seem reluctant to read the directions.
Just one of those mysteries of life, I guess.

Or maybe we should publish the directions as a $5.98 e-book.

This one's kinda my bad.

The instructions I PM include this line:

I reckon some are misreading that as "skip this" instead of "skip to this". I'll change that on future PMs to say "go directly to" to avoid confusion.

I've got to jailbreak my GP000PP (5.12.4) thanks to @ilovejedd and his procedure yesterday works like a charm !

I'am KUAL-ready

...

But i have an issue with the screensaver hack (it's the placeholder error from @NiLuJe ... )

It worked just fine until i synced my account which i supposed was the trigger cause i bought the Special-offers even though i asked a rep to remove it 48h ago ...

@Tuxen: Double-check on your account's page that SO are disabled, let it sync for a while (like, let it go to sleep while plugged in and connected, say, half an hour), then reboot.

You could also use the "Tools" prefix to find our most frequently used tools.
