Yes I’m sorry to hijack the thread. I’ve been following along in the hopes that you would all get your readers but I had my doubts. I saw the comment on bird toys & couldn’t help but jump in - noooooo! Sorry!

Have you looked at the Clara for a 6 inch Kobo? It’s a really nice device.

The birds are careful shoppers, and the coloured ladders go into an outdoor aviary where they get rain washed. We worry more about hawks than dyes and have extensive spiked defences, and a fake owl.

Back on readers, the 7 inch libra is also excellent and much cheaper than Amazon equivqlent

I strongly was tempted, yes, but decided to just take back the one 6" kobo already here. I bought that on release day, which is unusual for me. I just love it!

What kind of birds do you have?

I really would love the Libra, but, since I have a 7" Kobo, the Aura H2O, I decided against it. I really missed having a 6" Kobo.

I’ve had the Glo HD, the Clara & bought the Libra on release day. Come to think of it I bought all of them on release day. LOL I’m loving the Libra and do still go back to the 6 inch Clara. I just gave the Glo HD to a friend for her daughter to read on. It was just sitting going to waste and I’d much rather encourage the love of reading so I was happy to share.

I did notice that the Glo HD didn’t update to the same firmware as the others. I kinda like that progress bar on the bottom. I was happy to see it on the Clara too.

It’s easier to just reclaim a device rather than putting out cash for a newer one when you don’t need to.

It should have. The last release was long enough ago that any sync should have been updated. If it has been synced in that time, the only reason for it not to have been updated is if there wasn't enough free space on it to download an unpack the update. Or you patched it not to update.

Waiting for mine to arrive
Hello fellow readers. I´ve been waiting for my kobo aura ed 2 to arrive more than a month. I don´t have any tracking code that gives information after 3rd of January. Should I feel afraid? Maybe you could give me some advice when it arrives

Sorry, but we all are waiting for our aura ed2. I am waiting over two months now. Today I got a refund for it. So both, ed1 and ed2 are now refunded.

But I still hope that the delay has something to do with the coronavirus outbreak, and that I will get both devices some day within this year

I waited till the last day of the arrival date range. First you contact the seller, then if the seller will not respond within a couple of days you can contact ebay directly (you will get a notice) and than ebay will give you your money back!

No patch. I leave my devices as is. There’s certainly enough memory. I’m thinking that maybe I didn’t play with it enough to notice the progress bar. I was pretty sure I checked the version though. Oh well, but thank you. It’s good to know that she’ll have those new features. My concern was that they cut off updates for the Glo HD.

I patch, and I also don't update, or change to an earlier version, if I don't like the firmware. Currently I have my Glo HD and Aura H2O on a 2017 firmware 4.6.10075. I tried the latest on the H2O but wasn't happy with it.
