I've released kepubify v2.5.0 with a bugfix for UTF-8 byte-order-marks and a new --calibre option to use the .kepub extension for the converted books.

No. It has to be done elsewhere in calibre. And the editor. It doesn't take much, but editing a kepub with all the extra spans in it is a pain.

That would belong in epubtool rather than kepubify.

With kepubify-windows-32bit.exe version 2.5.1, I'm getting the following errors:

unknown flag: --smarten-punctuation
unknown flag: --inplace

Checking help, these options appear to be missing.

Usage: kepubify [OPTIONS] PATH [PATH]...
