Hi,

Happy New Year to you all.

I'll give a start to a wish list for this new year:
  • Author / dc:creator by default in "information"
  • drag and drop images in image folder
  • even better, drag / drop images directly at the right place in pageEdit
  • javascript handling in pageEdit because I really like the devtools for quiz inside the epub






And you, what are you wishing for Sigil / PageEdit in 2020?

Thanks for the heads up about 2) and 3), I'll wish it for next Christmas

(I really thought there was a deep reason why dc:creater wasn't included )

About javascript, well, I tried many stuff, but even an alert didn't seem to work...

(the onload alert broke a bit sigil, but it's ok now)

Not sure to keep using this thread or start another for wishlist ideas for Sigil. So let's start here for now.

A couple of little keyboard ideas from NotePad++ that I would find handy:
  1. Content sensitive home key - if you press home you go to the start of any text, then a second home takes you to the start of the line. Granted this might be annoying if you are used to the current Sigil way. Maybe could be implemented as two new keyboard shortcuts - one the existing "Home to start of line" behaviour that would be default mapped to the Home key and a new context sensitive "Home to start of line/start of text" that you could assign to the Home key instead.
  2. Multiline indent/de-indent with TAB/shift-TAB - instead of using Ctrl-Alt-M to indent, you can highlight multiple lines and indent/de-indent with TAB/shift-tab. The way NotePad++ does this seems like it need something smarter than a simple keyboard shortcut - if the text that is highlighted is a single line it acts like a normal tab, but if it spans multiple lines it indents. Conversely shift-TAB doesn't seem to do anything.

Happy for a "no way" to either of these. But you never know if you don't ask .

Sigil's CodeView was never really intended to be a full-featured code editor. We offer the Prettify feature for those who want their html to be somewhat formatted/indented. But that's pretty-much it. Multi-line indenting/dedenting is probably not in the cards. Sigil's Open With feature, however, will allow you to edit your xhtml in an editor of your choice, if such functionality is important to you.
