I'm working on Sanders of the River by Edgar Wallace. After having read A Passage to India, I figured I'd try something similar but that might be more enjoyable.

I'm not promising anything - I've downloaded and installed Book Designer 4; but I'm stumped as to how I'm supposed to download the Update, the links don't seem to be working. Also, there is so much info on Book Designer in the Wiki and Forums, it's a needle-in-haystick task finding the bit of info I might need.
I may have to learn Russian.

This could be embarrassing

Update: I used the update file in this post rather than trying to get it from the web; so think that problem may be solved.

I don't think I did the update right either.

"Tono-Bungay" by H. G. Wells

Thanks to the help and guidance provided by HarryT and Patricia in their guides, I've managed to create a version of "Tono-Bungay" that is now residing on my CyBook.

I'd like to read it through before uploading it; unless anyone is desperate to have it asap. (I'm thinking a few more days probably won't make much difference.)

For my first book, I'd like to do a collection of horse stories that are in the public domain. I have a bunch of paper-book anthologies that I'm going through and am marking the stories that are public domain. If anyone has any suggestions/favorites, let me know.

I just started work on a Robert Sheckley novel and some of his other shorter works.

A great sci-fi writer, who mainly wrote during the 1950s.

What other ones have you spotted lilac_jive?

I've nearly finished my work on 'Tono-Bungay'; and was curious to know what other classics are currently missing from MR.

I posted some of them, and then got too lazy to check the rest. One day I'll look over it again and post them up.

Can't wait for Tono-Bungay

Dickens - The Old Curiosity Shop (Illustrated)

Spent the last two months painstakingly proof-reading the book against the "Oxford Illustrated Dickens" edition. Two entire double-pages of text were missing from the book, as well as literally thousands of other minor errors and omissions. I would say that the book is probably now pretty much as good as it's going to get, although I would obviously welcome being informed of any remaining errors. Added a new cover image, too, and uploaded new versions for Sony and MobiPocket.

This is undoubtedly the most time-consuming book that I've uploaded so far - enjoy!

I've been tinkering with Bertrand Russell's Introduction to Mathematical Philosophy (published 1919), still an essential read in the philosophy of mathematics, and analytic philosophy generally, and currently no high-quality versions seem to be available for free online, as far as I can tell.

So far I've been working on cleaning up a text file generated from a OCR of the pbook. I'm trying to decide what tool to use or format to next; compared to some math books, there's relatively few formulae in it, but there is a good amount of Greek letters used as variables, etc., and I'm trying to decide what format to start working in next. LaTeX would be easiest, since I already know it well, but HTML might be more flexible.

This will be my first serious eBook conversion, however, and any advice would be appreciated!

However, I don't have MS Word installed on the computer I'm doing this on, and I'm tired of giving Microsoft money, so I'd prefer to steer clear of tools that require Word.

Greek letters should be no problem if you use an appropriate encoding, such as utf8, then it's a matter of the fonts in the reader having the Greek glyphs (which most current fonts should have). As for a starting format for ebooks, I'd use HTML, and then use XHTML+CSS (ePUB) as a storage and conversion source format.
