Unmarking books

I've done a search but haven't found a solution to my issue - apologies if I've overlooked it. For some reason, unmarking books has stopped working, and the number of marked books keeps increasing, most recently when I ran a duplicate search. I've tried unmarking them individually as well as using Clear All Marked Books, but if I close the program, the same books are all marked again when I re-open Calibre. What am I missing? This has persisted through several versions - I've currently got the most recent 64-bit version running on Windows 10, and my plugins are up-to-date. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

This is likely because one of those plugins, probably the find duplicates plugin preserves and restores the list of mark books. There's probably a button somewhere in it to clear the list.

You've probably marked some duplications 'exempt' in FD, probably inadvertently. To get rid of them permanently, do this (in the All Books VL, if appropriate) :

Thank you both. It indeed was the Find Duplicates plugin, and clearing the exemptions allowed me to unmark the books.
