I haven't read yet, hope it's not too different than the others, all of which I've quite enjoyed...

I loved Act Like It, and it made bump the other books to the top of Mount TBR.

Did a mini purge of about 20 books. Most were ones I got from Sourcebooks Discover a New Love or freebies that missed my big purge a few years ago.

Not much in the grand scheme of things, but they're ones I know I'll never read.

There were others I probably won't read but talked myself into keeping. (because you never know when I'll be stranded with no access to buying more books, but apparently power to charge my tablet )

My TBR is still a mountain not a pile

A couple of Ilona Andrews titles have dropped in price today...

Iron and Magic is the first title in the Hugh d’Ambray spin-off from the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews. It has dropped to $2.99 at Kindle and Kobo US (coupon/VIPable)
Kindle US: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CZ39YYV
Kobo US: https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/iron-and-magic

Clean Sweep is the first in the Innkeeper series, which is my favorite of their series. It is $0.99 at Kindle US, but not on sale at Kobo US, at least as of now. Info and links in this previous post:

Spoiler:
This is a short novel, about 60,000 words.
On the outside, Dina Demille is the epitome of normal. She runs a quaint Victorian Bed and Breakfast in a small Texas town, owns a Shih Tzu named Beast, and is a perfect neighbor, whose biggest problem should be what to serve her guests for breakfast. But Dina is...different: Her broom is a deadly weapon; her Inn is magic and thinks for itself. Meant to be a lodging for otherworldly visitors, the only permanent guest is a retired Galactic aristocrat who can’t leave the grounds because she’s responsible for the deaths of millions and someone might shoot her on sight. Under the circumstances, "normal" is a bit of a stretch for Dina.
And now, something with wicked claws and deepwater teeth has begun to hunt at night...Feeling responsible for her neighbors, Dina decides to get involved. Before long, she has to juggle dealing with the annoyingly attractive, ex-military, new neighbor, Sean Evans—an alpha-strain werewolf—and the equally arresting cosmic vampire soldier, Arland, while trying to keep her inn and its guests safe. But the enemy she’s facing is unlike anything she’s ever encountered before. It’s smart, vicious, and lethal, and putting herself between this creature and her neighbors might just cost her everything.

Humble Bundle is offering romance titles in their latest package. They look to be from Sourcebooks. I don't remember ever seeing a romance selection!

I bought the $18 bundle. I have some of the books already because they were part of Sourcebook's Discover a New Love program. It's a good deal for 46 books.

A very good deal. I already own over half of these.

Thankfully I've read many of them, so I don't feel bad for buying and then having them sit in my TBR (which I am terribly guilty of a lot of the time).

2019 favorite reads...

What were your favorite reads of 2019?

I can never pick just one book or even series as so much depends on my mood And though I do read a lot of new releases, I also read a lot of backlist so I don’t limit myself to this year’s releases. I just limit myself to books I’ve read this calendar year.

alphabetically by author:
Her Festive Flirtation by Therese Beharrie Nov 2018
Nightchaser by Amanda Bouchet Mar 2019 (Endeavor #1)
Fractured Stars by Lindsay Buroker Sept 2018 (Fractured Stars #1)
Junkyard * by Lindsay Buroker Oct 2018 (Fractured Stars #1.5)
Fierce Justice by Piper J Drake Mar 2019 (True Heroes #5)
A Conspiracy of Whispers by Ada Harper Jan 2018 (Quillian Empire #1)
Wyoming Cowboy Bodyguard by Nicole Helm July 2019 (Carsons & Delaneys #7)
The Trouble with Cowboy Weddings by Nicole Helm July 2019 (Mile High #5)
The Bride Test by Helen Hoang May 2019 (The Kiss Quotient #2)
Warrior of the World by Jeffe Kennedy Jan 2019 (Chronicles of Dasnaria #3)
Oria’s Enchantment by Jeffe Kennedy Jan 2019 (Sorcerous Moons #5)
Lonen’s Reign by Jeffe Kennedy Mar 2019 (Sorcerous Moons #6)
The Orchid Throne by Jeffe Kennedy Oct 2019 (Forgotten Empires #1)
The Queen’s Gambit * by Jessie Mihalik Feb 2018 (Rogue Queen #1)
Polaris Rising by Jessie Mihalik Feb 2019 (Consortium Rebellion #1)
Aurora Blazing by Jessie Mihalik Oct 2019 (Consortium Rebellion #2)
Apple of My Eye by Carla Neggers Apr 1985 (Michael Wolfe Literary Agency #1)
Night Watch by Carla Neggers Oct 1993
Stone Bridges by Carla Neggers Apr 2019 (Swift River Valley #9)
The Rogue King by Abigail Owen July 2019 (Inferno Rising #1)
Engaging the Enemy by Reese Ryan Apr 2019 (The Bourbon Brothers #3)
Winter Solstice Dream * by Veronica Scott Oct 2019 (Magic of Claddare #1.5)
Angels’ Judgment * by Nalini Singh Sept 2009 (Guild Hunter #1.5)
Angels’ Dance * by Nalini Singh Mar 2012 (Guild Hunter #4.7)
Archangel’s Storm by Nalini Singh Sept 2012 (Guild Hunter #5)
A Madness of Sunshine by Nalini Singh Dec 2019
Flare Up by Shannon Stacey Jan 2019 (Boston Fire #6)
One Summer Weekend * by Shannon Stacey Aug 2019 (Cedar Street #1)
One Christmas Eve * by Shannon Stacey Nov 2019 (Cedar Street #2)
* indicates novella

There were about a dozen more books I rated at B+ that I would also consider favorites, but (a) that’s because I tend to hold my autobuy (and thus favorite authors) to a higher standard, (b) a B or B+ is still a good grade to me, it just means I had more issues with the plot or main characters than with an A read, NOT that I didn’t enjoy the book and (c) I figured 29 is a large enough list. So only my five star reads for the year are listed here.
