Here is the case I ended up with.

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07...b_b_asin_title

With the case, this makes my kobo as light as my Sony T2 (with official case), which was important for me as my hands are weak and sensitive to weight.

Thanks again for all the suggestions.

I bought this from Amazon.de (Fintie):

https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07...0?ie=UTF8&th=1

But is not quite light having around 100gr.

I think the back plastic cover is adding some important weight.

So I'm still looking for something lighter like neoprene ones if possible...

Any tips?

Kobo's official Sleep Cover, while expensive (like 2-3x the price of the off-brands you find on ebay/Amazon), has worked beautifully for my Clara. I previously had a cheap folio case from Amazon, but it started to crack at the corner after only 60 days. To boot, the front cover flap really didn't like bending around completely, so it was always flapping around while I tried to read.

I like the way the Sleep Cover folds around vertically rather than horizontally, and the magnetic latch keeps it in place when folded over. It also helps distinguish my Kobo from my girlfriend's Kindle (with a leather folio case as well) at a glance.
There are 2 'official' ones:

https://www.bol.com/nl/p/kobo-besche...0000092866035/ 110gr

and this one:

https://www.bol.com/nl/p/kobo-besche...0000094351814/ 70 gr

I would like exactly that navy blue Fintie cover for my Clara. It is the same as the cover on my 6" Glowlight Plus and I like it.

Unfortunately in the US, the only options left are ugly.

It's 3.4 Oz. The online weight is the shipping weight which includes the package.

I very sensitive to weight in my hands.

The style that @Joeldmtl linked to in post #7 is the only Kobo case I've ever seen with a flexible back. I believe it's TPU. I don't know if the ones on sale from multiple vendors are all identical from the same factory.

I've had one of these on my ClaraHD since they first came on sale. I liked it well enough that I bought a similar one for my Forma.

It's not something I'd contemplate doing myself but, if you're good with a craft knife, you should be able to cut off the front cover without damaging the TPU back shell in any way. Obviously that would remove the sleepcover feature (which works perfectly BTW).

The rubbery TPU shell peels off/on really easily when you want to read without a cover.
