Did 4.47.1 break this?
The browser (firefox) won't open the selection until I close Calibre. FWIW this also happened previously a long time back

I reverted to 3.46 and all is well

I'm having an issue with this plug-in, every time I click on Customise Plug-in Calibre crashes.

I'm running version 3.48 of Calibre and 1.7.6 of the plug-in.

I'm not sure if there are any logs (I assume there are) to help fix this.

Is there anyway to add the series to the test url box? Am configuring for series searches but can't test.

More input...
OK you have 1.7.6 of the plugin.
What OS?
What version NUMBER of Calibre (Latest will be wrong in a few days )
Has this PI ever worked? Preferences: Plugins: <find plugin name in the list>: Remove Plugin (button, lower right)

THEN (remove leaves settings) Exit Calibre
open the Calibre Configuration Folder/Plugins: and remove the 3 'search the internet' files

Start Calibre: Help:Get Plugins and get a fresh copy of this PI

Works here Same OS and level
Same PI
Same Calibre version.
Try what I posted earlier for a clean PI install and see if that helps (the setting file may be corrupted

I'm running Calibre version 4.6 on Windows 10.

I have removed the plugin, closed Calibre, removed the remaining files in the plugins folder, restarted Calibre and re-installed the plugin.

Calibre still crashes when I try to configure the search the internet plugin.

It is opening fine here on Win10. Could you run calibre in debug mode and see if you get anything? Or, run from the command-line using "calibre-debug -g". The latter might be needed to see what the last output is.

@activedirectory and @unabatedshagie What do you mean when you say it crashes?

I bet it is the 'off screen' issue.

I agree so I grabbed up your explanation from another thread.

For some reason Calibre is now opening that form off screen

Try this while it is supposed to be there
Alt+spacebar then M then use the left arrow key a bunch of times
If this is working, you should see the form enough to drag it back to its favored location.
The unanswered question: Why is this happening (besides it came with the 4.x update, migrating calibre itself from Qt WebKit to Qt WebEngine, because the former is no longer maintained). Where is the RAID guy

Still crashing after following all the reinstall steps. Here's the debug message before it self-closes

I use a custom ICC profile from my Spyder calibration software. I shut it off and rerun the debugger and unfortunately receive the same message/result.

I don't believe the libpng warnings are a problem. I see a lot more of them. But, an "out of memory" message is a lot more of a worry. Have you configured your own options? With an icon? Can you remove the configuration file and try again? This is "Search The Internet.json" in the Plugins directory with the calibre profile directory.
