Sho' nuff.

Hell, boy, if the crinkles in my face didn't give it away, that tape sure would. That and my collection of GEN-YOU-INE 80-column punch cards!

DEC Tape was a roll of magnetic tape that was about 3" in diameter. I can still remember the flapping sound it made when you rewound it right off the take-up spool.

Randomly accessible too, like a disk or drum.

A while back I donated my collection of PDP-11 fanfold paper tape loaders to a local CS museum - RSX-11C/M, RT11, RSTS/E etc and a multi-user RT11, the name of which I forget, it wasn't from DEC.

I vaguely recall using the TSX-Plus operating system on our PDP-11 minis. It was multi-user.

As this discussion has devolved into my pdp-8 is bigger than your pdp-8, could we please take it someplace else? ;-)

Thank you!

I had to search on PDP-11. Oh! Yeah! I remember those!

I think they're now available in Las Angeles for low-income housing. Some disassembly required.
