Indeed thank you. Traditionally it hasn't existed before but perhaps a customizable toolbar like calibre itself would be great. All available actions as menu items would be too so nice.

btw, as maybe the initial thought to not include a toolbar was for a clean UI, have you considered monochromatic icons as default? Unsure if there are plans to cleanup the UI of calibre itself as was done for the viewer. On macOS, a truly native looking app like defaults such as Mail, Safari, etc. would be so nice though maybe quite a bit of work. Someday if possible.

The stupidest and most poor ergonomic fashion ever was to change to not just mono, but totally flat GUI (buttons, scroll, titles and Icons) and then simplify to the point where you have to guess. I think overly skeuomorphic, animated, translucent etc is also mad (the Vista and some previous Apple), but dumbing down to the level scene on current Android and Win 10 is madness. I'd rather learn Chinese and have those ideograms /logograms/symbols as a GUI, at least you'd know what the things mean.

Sorry about the rant. However designing everything like a whitespace enhanced corporate mono laser printout is the most backward step in GUIs since they were invented in 1976. (Apple, Digital Research, Microsoft and others copied Xerox).

Even eink GUIs are now too flat and simplified.

btw, noticed that the buttons to decrease/increase font size are reversed when displayed horizontally like at the top. Unsure if an oversight or intentional. Think of any other UI control, on a device, or in the real world. up and right, whether sliding or turning in the case of a dial, is typically to increase and vice versa. The font size control that shows 'A's to select size is also ascending.

There already is one. Ctrl+F11 IIRC though it might have been added after the last release, dont remember

Until there are changes, choosing different icon sets can greatly vary how calibre looks. Here is one example. More to choose from at Preferences - Look & Feel - Main Interface tab - Icon Theme.

btw, when trying to reorder toolbar buttons, they disappear from the list yet remain not in Available. As for the increase/decrease font size, I think that's better as one split button (if such exists in Qt), where it'll display +/- or -/+ depending on toolbar orientation. You may also consider move up/down buttons for the toolbar actions, as is as such the config for calibre itself.
