ePub to PDF conversion is failing
I am fairly new to Calibre.
I have converted several ePub files to PDFs today, all have worked except for one and I cannot figure out what the problem is. I am not getting any specific error code, but the job fails. Here are the job details: Spoiler:
Any help is appriciated |

Why on earth do you want a PDF from an ebook? PDFs are to proof paper prints, or send to someone that will print on paper.
Export from Calibre as RTF or HTML, then use LibreOffice Writer OR MS Word, or a dedicated PDF creation program to create a PDF with the desired page size. You may want to edit styles or images to suit the PDF depend on page size. A PDF is ALWAYS associated with a physical page size. PDFs are not ebooks, they are electronic proofs for paper. Sometimes used as an envelope for multiple scanned images from a physical book or magazine when text isn't available, though multipage TIF is better if you are doing OCR. |

Hard to say without looking at the EPUB file in question open a ticket and attach it and I will look at it.

Annotation of epub on Kobo and import using Kobo Utilities suits me fine. For any thing fancier using a wordprocessor is better. If you really insist on PDF, then export the epub from Calibre and use Wordprocessor or PDF creation tools. PDF annotation is for stupidly designed forms that should use HTML/Web or to proof for print. |
