Not sure what you are talking about here. I think the "page line" is the title and book progress at the bottom of the screen when reading. But, the only dot in that is the separator between the book title and the progress. Other than that I can't think of what you are talking about.

Those dots will take you to points in the book where you have previously navigated using the slider, the slider arrows, or the TOC.

As @Phil_C said, these are navigation breadcrumbs. If you use the navigation bar to move around the book, the locations you stop at should be marked. Tapping one will take you directly there. Tapping the "Back to..." will take you to the last one visited. |

It seems that I can't take note at new firmware

![]() The e-book I used is Kobo Glo. I use 4.15.x firmware before. These days I update to firmware 4.18.x. But it seems that I can't press for long to take a note or underline. Is there something wrong? By the way, I am wonder is there any methods to connect WIFI ignore the GFW firewall. I can only sync my Kobo by using Kobo in my PC when VPN global proxy on. Can I edit the config file to achieve that? Sorry for my poor English.

Personally, the unit is powered off. I don't get as much time to read as I like and I might go a week before I can pick up my book again so I have the reader power off after 30m of sleep or something. My battery lasts for-ever. It doesn't matter if I allow the device to power off or I power it off myself. I cannot confirm nor deny if this behavior happens during normal sleep. |

The firmware upgrade didn't affect the ability to long press a word for highlighing, at least not on my Clara.

Calibre Warning - Failed: Kobo database version unsupported

Hate to beat a dead horse. Yes, I know the workaround for this database warning is to override the Calibre database check... I'm just curious, since the override works fine (or at least it did for both of my Kobos)... should we consider the "override check / Attempt to support newer firmware" as the permanent fix for future updated versions pushed out to our Kobos? I quickly skimmed this thread... didn't anything specific unless I missed it

_____________ calibre, version 3.44.0 WARNING: Failed: Kobo database version unsupported - See details Your Kobo is running an updated firmware/database version. As calibre does not know about this updated firmware, database editing is disabled, to prevent corruption. You can still send books to your Kobo with calibre, but deleting books and managing collections is disabled. If you are willing to experiment and know how to reset your Kobo to Factory defaults, you can override this check by right clicking the device icon in calibre and selecting "Configure this device" and then the "Attempt to support newer firmware" option. Doing so may require you to perform a factory reset of your Kobo. Device database version: 157. Device firmware version: (4, 18, 13737) Last edited by Elton Noway; 11-06-2019 at 07:09 PM. |
