Error message "application can't be opened"
Hi,
first post. Today I loaded the latest beta for macOS Catalina. Now I get a lovely error message "The application Calibre can't be opened" whenever I drag an epub file to the dock icon. The drag itself works fine. Using latest version of Calibre. Bug in Catalina? Regards bwill |

What happens when you open calibre directly? And latest beta of Catalina? I vaguely remember that Catalina went public on Oct. 7th, 2019? Or are you referring to the Supplemental Update for the RTM of Catalina.
If you are still having issues, I'd suggest having a moderator move this thread to the Calibre forum where it belongs. |

What latest beta? Catalina has been released and versions of calibre greater than 4 work fine with it as long as you install them using the official dmg and not homebrew.

I'm using the latest available beta of Catalina for 10.15.1 because I'm a developer. I'm not using the supplemented update.
I'm using the latest official release of Calibre and not some homebrew version. Calibre already is open. When I drag and drop a book onto the dock icon then I get said error message. Here is a screenshot of the message: ![]() Regards Beatrix Willius |

And does this happen only when you drag a book onto the dock icon? What happens if you run calibre normally? And I just tried dragging a book onto the calibre icon on my catalina 15.0 machine and it worked fine. So hopefully apple will fix whatever they broke in their beta
