Logical TOC problem in Kindle on iOS
Logical TOC is shown correctly on all platform except iOS when convert epub into Kindle file.
Only iOS app does not show logical TOC.

How to make logical TOC compatible with iOS also?

I couldn't find a epub sample that can be converted correctly.

This might turn out to be a general epub question rather than a Sigil-specific one. We'll see. I know there are special considerations for how converted kindle books are even previewed on iOS.

Yeah, I thought so too but I wasn't sure this is something Sigil can handle automatically(and there are specific setup) or I need to code manually.

You'll have to be more specific.

1. How did you convert the epubs (Calibre, KindleGen/Kindle Previewer)?
2. Did you generate MOBI, AZW3, AZK, KPF or KFX files?
3. Are the files intended for Amazon KDP?

1. conversion -> Kindle Previewer
2. format -> azk(Since Kindle for iOS accepts only azk I suppose?)
3. for Amazon KDP -> Yes.

Amazon has added Logical TOC feature on the side panel(from the hamburger menu) for
iOS many years ago.
But so far I haven't been able to show this with epub I created.

In epub2 books, the logical TOC is defined in the NCX file, which you can generate via Tools > Table of Contents > Generate Table of Contents.

If the Generate Table of Contents dialog is empty, you'll need to wrap all headings in heading tags, e.g. <h1>Chapter 1</h1>.

If you've created an epub3 book with the latest Sigil version, you'll have to select Epub3 tools > Generate guide/ncx for epub2 readers.

Actually I too thought ncx is the key, but even if there is ncx in it, logical toc isn't shown, with both epub2 and epub3.
Were you able to show logical toc on iOS?

Is an NCX TOC required for logical TOC? I thought nav toc in epub3 now suffices. See 5.2.1 starting on page 17 of Kindle Publishing Guidelines.

I always create an NCX for backward compatibility, so I've never tested this with just a nav toc, but I'm always curious about what works and what doesn't.

Only in epub2 books. If you compile an epub3 book with NAV and NCX TOCs with KindleGen, it'll use the NAV TOC to generate the logical TOC.

@ash-f Maybe your book is missing the HTML TOC guide/landmarks entry. Try opening your book with Kindle Previewer, if the HTML TOC guide/landmarks entry is missing, the Table of Contents entry will be greyed out.
