It requires multiple taps, wipes or button clicks or tapping the display for menu to get the clock after many seconds. Not stable to reproduce, the time required is variable. |

if the sleep cover causes auto-repeat magnet sensor events (previously discussed, uh, somewhere), it might go into cooldown mode, as otherwise the mod would keep the device awake and drain battery
the cooldown period is also configurable - but it might end up longer than configured since the device also goes to sleep while reading to conserve power Code:
# # cooldown=num time # # after receiving <num> unrecognized events in a row, # stop listening to all input for <time> seconds. # (helps avoid power consumption during standby) # cooldown=5 30 from what I'm told this is a problem with the forma specifically, but I don't have the device to verify myself so I can only guess at the behavior at the end of a day this is a simple mod; it doesn't really know when you are turning the page or when the clock should appear, it's all a guessing game - it can't do everything perfectly |

FWIW on my Forma with magnetic sleepcover ... when I first wake it up it takes a little while (maybe 30-60 secs) before responding to a page turn (button or touch). Once it is responding it responds as expected until the next sleep.
IMHO just live with it! I'm thankful to have such a great hack in the first place. |

Something not right here, I did a factory reset and the clock is displayed but the files a missing as expected from a reset, see pics.

Parts of the mod need to live somewhere a quick factory reset won't get to. Only a full factory reset to the factory firmware will. I don't recall what triggers which exactly as that changed recently.

There's nothing in this (or any other) addon that makes it survive factory resets. Sounds like in your case only the user partition was formatted, but addons are installed to the system partition. That's not a factory reset (one that also reverts to factory firmware).
Also there's no need to factory reset just to get rid of an addon. Just uninstall it. It'll rename the config file to uninstalled-$date so you have confirmation it was uninstalled. |

Why? If we're going to hack or patch, we can still look for the best result. I don't really need the miniclock but wanted to try it. And now it works very well. |

Many thanks to the author of this thread and code!
Got it on my new Libra and it took some fine tuning but i think It's about perfect. Can someone enlighten me on the refresh delay and the two values of cooldown? I didn't quite get how that affects the behaviour. ![]() |

In general, though, with freely shared hacks there comes a time when "near enough is good enough". It's completely unreasonable for the rest of us to be constantly badgering in pursuit of our personal definition of "perfection" unless frostschutz actually wants to spend even more of his free time on it. Maybe he'd like to read a book or watch TV instead. It seems persistent whining by those with an over-developed sense of entitlement is never in short supply on MR forums. |

Who gives you the right to judge me when you don't know me? I test this hack for the first time and ask about things that seem problematic to me. It's up to @frostschutz to decide whether or not to respond and give helpful tips. His advice helped, he did a great job. If you were already satisfied, it's good for you. I just ask more and if it bothers him, HE can just tell me that and I will accept it without complaint.

Come on guy's chill, I'll give it another go pity you have to remove the USB every time to make a change.
EDIT: How can I find the x and y coordinates on the aura one screen?. Last edited by Gibbo; 09-28-2019 at 02:26 AM. |
