Cold be the solution is not read the hardware but read this config file to show the light level.

Don't mind Jon, anyone reading the thread would have seen the progression of the conversation from a feature request for miniclock, citing a feature in KOReader, the follow up, and a question about that reply with an example from Nickle.

Oh, right, that's a very good point, my mind was too close to the metal .

I don't recall how often Nickel actually syncs its config with UI actions, but, yeah, that might do just fine .

Did you rename the file to KoboRoot.tgz ?

Also make sure your OS and/or unarchiving tool didn't do any untoward things to either the zip or the tgz file therein.

Also when you do get it installed, pay attention to the name of the configuration file, I believe the only one I had was something like MiniClockConfigeEXAMPLE.something the key part being the EXAMPLE, it may be some other word but it should be fairly obvious when looking at it. You'll want to remove that word for the configuration file to be read.

I unziped it on the PC's download folder and copy/paste it to .kobo folder

Got it running, but after tinkering with it I've messed up any chance someone can post the original config file (should have saved a copy). Also would like it on the bottom right side of the Aura One plz plus change the font to bookerly.

I do not own an Auro One but I use the add-on on both my Clara HD and original H2O. I attach the example cfg file which comes with the add-on (note that I had to rename the file to .txt in order to allow upload). I also include below the revisions to that coding which I use (on the Clara I have the clock top right, on the H2O I have it on the bottom. I place my preferred font within the add-ons folder.) My coding may be useful for you to make whatever changes you prefer to have.

I try this mod first time on my Forma. It works, also with some minor configuration. But there is a little problem. Waking up the reader with sleep cover, the clock is gone away and I don't see when/why it comes back. Some clicks with the buttons or some taps on display or calling the menu and sometime the clock comes back.

Why the clock disappears? And what to do to get back the clock?

The clock will update only when there is some action, like turning the page. The built-in Kobo clock on the top menu bar works the same way.

That’s not the issue being described.

The issue is that when using the sleepcover the clock disappears and only seems to come back randomly through behavior that is expected to update it.

I suspect that this is a limitation on the mod to prevent it from constantly calling to update the time. Though I’m sure someone can describe this more in depth as well.

If memory serves a possible fix is adjusting the update frequency which is in the configuration file. Though I’ve not looked at this mod in awhile and currently don’t have it installed anymore because of the latest patches letting me reclaim so much space. I might install it again and try to squeeze it in to the top margin.
