When converting epub to pdf on 3.99.7 images would get cut off at the bottom of a page then also reappear whole at the top of the next. I tried it again in 3.99.8 and this has been corrected. However, I noticed that (without changing any settings) that the footer page number disappeared, but now shows up in the header. Best regards, Pop

Kovid things are really looking good. I still have two minor issues.

1. It would be great if the background image wasn't affected by the margin setting in viewer preferences. Currently the margins shrink the background image.

2. When I scroll through pages using the scroll wheel on the mouse it works great until I reach the end of the html file (often the end of a chapter). When it gets to the end of the file it stops cold. To proceed I have to use the page down button to move to the next html file in the book.

@DoctorOhh: 1. Sadly this is not possible because of the way the new viewer is designed. Basically the margins are rendered separately from the content, so you cant have the image stretch over them.

2. I dont see this on my computer. Is it with a specific book or all books? IIRC you use windows, correct?


@rjwse: I've seen one other report of this headerss and footers being swapped thing, but I cant replicate it myself, it would help if you sent me the book you are converting and also the log from the conversion job. You can send me the file eihter by PMing me a link to it or opena ticket in the calibre bug tracker and attach itthere.

Calibre Portable 3.99.8
Epub format

It seems to only happen when I use the style sheet (example below). When I remove the style sheet I don't run into this issue.

It's probably caused by the margin on html it messes up end of text detection. Does removing it fix the issue?

Background image in order to change the image I had to clear the image then close the viewer before the image would change.

On svg images inside an epub it has to be one image per html file and there can not be any other elements in the file e.g. an empty paragraph or div.

Using page mode I have seen this occasionally also--especially when using a touch screen, more often when using the server viewer--happens more in the version 3.48 server. I just use the TOC to advance to the next chapter.

Thanks for the feedback Using the TOC or simply the page down button advances the text fine. Thanks again for your input.

If it is a book you previously opened you will need ot reload for the fix to work.
