It is a bit non-obvious with dark themes: You also need to be viewing the full details of a single book. |

Last time I used Marvin's in-app browser to view the webpage version of Calibre content server, it didn't play nice. Haven't really tried recently. It might work better now that it's not reliant on local database cache. |

I got hit with the ios CC 2.0. Looks to be happening my ipad installed the new ipados.
Will now have to reload the books but will check if they are still there first. I do pray that the same thing will not happen to the Android version of CC. |

I have been holding off on updating my phone because I’m afraid that it will install the Cc app update and wipe everything. Guess I’ll just keep waiting for another CC update while looking for the best alternative if that doesn’t materialize.

Not unless the developer forks the app into a "classic" version and the "new and improved(?)" version.
Related question: for those of us who already installed the subscription version, is there any way to opt out of future updates/payments besides uninstalling the current version of the app? |

A less tedious but significantly slower option is to use Calibre's Connect to folder function to connect to a cloud storage directory as if it were a reader device. Slower because these have to sync up to the central servers and then back down to the iThing. |

Marvin hasn't been updated in a while so its support for the Files app (via Cloud Picker) is less than ideal. Unless you go with Dropbox or OPDS, you need to transfer ebooks one by one. Hence, I never much liked using iCloud/Files or CC with it. I find Dropbox is the best supported source so I just use FreeFileSync to mirror my Calibre library to Dropbox and do batch downloads to Marvin. |

Ugh. The last time I updated iOS it must have somehow changed my setting to auto update apps (I always turn this off on my devices), I thought I was safe until opening CC a couple days ago. Guess it's time to reload 4,000+ books

Same thing happened to me earlier this week with my other iPad. I was able to transfer 4022 books in about 55 minutes. I started off with 200 books and then kept increasing the number in each batch. After 2000 books I said the heck with this and successfully sent 2022 in one batch I used the wireless connection and the worst part for me was highlighting all those books at once. You do need to be patient once you hit send. I think the fact that I only sent ePub format and none had to be converted on the fly probably decreased the transfer time.
I have become obsessive about checking that auto update setting. |

Found Error

One is that the long press on a book does not open the list of ebooks to choose from for reading. Short press allows go to detail page that has read up in the corner and that works fine. Edit: I guess I wasn't pressing long enough or hard enough, but this works on my Ipad 5. Edit 2: long press brings up list, but pressing on list item goes nowhere. Still have to go to detail page and press read in the corner. sigh. Last edited by peaceridge; 09-28-2019 at 05:31 PM. Reason: Problem not resolved |
