I also use Kobo Utilities and update via Calibre, but on device, In Reading Settings, under "Book progress" select "percent read" - it gives you something like this,

I do use Calibre, but only to covert books or to put them on my Kobo...

Do you mean the button to put it into sleep? That's how I get my percentage progress in "one click" - press the power button, and I get percentage read and time to go, then press it again and I'm back.

I did that at first, but now that I have a pretty screensaver I removed the book progress from my sleep screen.

I just want to see how far I am exactly while I'm reading but without giving up my 'time remaining'.

I guess I just want too much.

But do check out the Kobo Utilities GoodRead Synch options, they make updating quite straightforward, especially if you're reading more than one book at a time.

Ah, that graphic, thanks. It's two taps now - one on the menu button at the top right, and one on "Reading Progress". So depending on whether you're a "glass half-empty" or "glass half-full" person, it's a 100% increase in the number of taps, or "just one extra"

Many thanks to geek1011, jackie_w, GeoffR and NiLuJe for all of your work - I installed the patches for the latest firmware version and everything is working as it should

One thing I was wondering is if it is possible to alter/reduce the font size of the text in the footnotes popup. I used to install a patch compiled by jcn363 called 'footnotes and alike' (link here), which worked without being updated up until the latest 4.15.* firmware version, but (as I suspected) it doesn't work anymore. I don't know if it would still be feasible in the newest firmware version?

Would it be possible to make a patch that swaps the info in the header and footer? Keeping the book title in the header and the chapter info in the footer?

Yes, this is still possible. So far not enough people have expressed interest for it to be added to the standard kobopatch pack but I have my own custom patch I can share with you. I only use mine to reduce font-size for KA1 & Forma but I can add the necessary for all the other models.

If I haven't posted anything here in the next 24 hours feel free to PM me as a reminder. It's been a busy couple of weeks and I keep getting sidetracked.
