The judge postponed the case by six months, no reason given. Six months is very long, normally they delay by a couple of weeks (though with a previous case at this stage it got postponed by a couple of weeks for six months). Our lawyer suspects the case is postponed due to the backlog at courts, though it would be nice to know the reason.

That is a really long time to wait! So frustrating for you and your family.

For the past week I'm starting to get a cold. The last couple of days I felt fine, but the ones before that I was sure I was going to get one. Now this morning I feel under the weather again. Tomorrow I'm going on vacation, luckily I had a lazy reading retreat planned.

I've gather all my usual cold medicine and I'll have to visit the drugstore when it opens later to stock up on a couple of things. Hopefully I'll be able to keep it from becoming worse. If not I'll be prepared.

I dunno if you guys have this dumb Airborne stuff there; I'd read about it for ages and never tried it, but my SIL insisted I try it on a trip, where I was definitely getting sick, and while I do NOT believe that it prevents colds or any of that beeswax, it absolutely always makes me feel less sick/feel better. Can't beat that with a stick.

No, we don't have Airborne. When I go to the UK I always on Lemsip (Max) pills. Those things work great, also not for preventing, but it makes you feel lots better. I'm down to my five last pills, so I keep those for when I feel really bad. We've got Antigrippine, a mixture of paracetamol, caffeine and vitamin C. Not as good, but okay.

When I get a cold I almost always also get a throat infection, that's usually the start of my cold. We've got Strepfen in both lozenges and spray. That spray is disgusting, but it works for taking away the pain and swelling and fighting off the infection. That stuff has helped several times from me getting a full blown throat infection and the cold was gone in a few days.

At least it isn't as bad as in January 2017, when the Saturday night before I left (on a Monday) I had a raging fever, that didn't break until early Monday morning.

Oh, and yeah--truly, we had a tornado yesterday. 200 feet away from my front porch and door. We're watching the storm form...outflow...and then, KABLAMMO!, a tornado forms, right in front of our eyes. Was so close, no point in trying to run or jump in the car....it woulda whacked us had it come this way. Unfreakingbelievable!

I checked with the post office. They were unable to locate the package but said because the shipment was sent Priority Mail it included insurance but the shipper would have to file the claim. The shipper wouldn't do anything further and Ebay closed the case because tracking showed it was delivered.

This was only a small amount of money so not really a financial issue, but I'd think the seller would at least go through the motions of making the claim with the Post Office,

UPDATE re the above package which was supposedly delivered to me on August 29 - on Monday, September 23, I went out my front door to go to work in the morning and found the package on my doormat. It was cold as if it had been sitting there overnight. It was undamaged and unopened, with no markings on it to indicate it had been misdelivered and resent.
