I've installed the firmware in a Clara without patches, and my dictionaries and clock have survived (some of the most important things). A lot of translations are missing but not a problem, I love the new header and footer, it's exactly what I wanted.

Are there any changes to how the page numbers are calculated?

I am still hoping for dynamic page numbers for the entire book. (So far this is only possible per chapter in kepubs.)

The new FW is working fine on my Clara. I like the header and footer.

I notice that checking the box for Show Adobe EPUB page numbers has no effect. (I have kepubs exclusively.) Also, the ability to long-press the footer to toggle the information displayed is gone.

I had to raise the Mini-Clock display 4 pixels to allow room for the progress bar at the bottom of the screen.

Now just need patches to allow Advanced options for sideloaded fonts and a couple of minor things.

Very nice!

Yes, this has changed. The full book page numbers for kepubs are calculated in the same way as the per-chapter page number.

And here are three screenshots taken with a firmware version that is much closer to the release version than what everyone is talking about. This is an purchased kepub, but, it is basically the same with my epubs and sideloaded kepubs.

The bottom margin without the progress bar doesn't show any difference, but, how much space is left at the bottom relies heavily on choices such as the font, font size, line spacing and exactly what is on the page.

And for those who are waiting, I have updated the driver in calibre for the Libra H2O. The supported firmware version has been bumped to 4.17.13579. That isn't going to be the actual release version, but it is close enough to what will be released. It is waiting to be merged to the calibre main branch. I don't know when a release will be made with this in it.

I don't get it. Kobo seems to understand some people want narrow margins, because unlike Amazon you can have small left right margins. But after all this time they still can't take the next step and reduce the top bottom margins to match.

Now, I get that the bottom margin is tricky and depends on font size line spacing etc, but there's no excuse for that top margin.

If you've seen the screen grabs that davidfor posted in the message prior to yours, you'll see that the top margin has been fixed.

The 4.16 version also has *serious* navigation issues with Kepub that do not have full page image insert. Going backwards takes you to the first page of the previous chapter/file, not the previous page.

Edit: But this only happens if you have the Chapter Progress Header on.

I believe David mentioned there were ePub and kepub issues in this version which may not even be what Libra owners end up with.

Am I the only one that wishes the information on the header and footer were swapped? Having the book info on the bottom and the chapter info at the top seems weird.

I suspect the change has to do with the new progress bar at the bottom, so I understand the rationale. But it still looks weird.

I was wondering if anyone would see this bug. I've read one book this year that I wanted to go look at the map at the start frequently. And it also had reasonably long chapters. And I started it just when the new navigation arrived in the beta. Perfect for that. But, this bug But, I didn't notice that the header affected it.

Has anyone noticed if their table of contents have disappeared? I installed the new firmware on my Clara and everything seems to work fine except I have no more table of contents on my sideloaded books.

the table of contents Icon is at the very bottom left when you have the controls open/visible.. It also displays the current chapter name.
