About the margins of the pages
Hi,
I have been using Kindle Voyage for some time now and enjoying it except for one thing: margins. Although I selected "compact" mode in the page settings, I want my margins more narrower like 25% less than the narrowest one present in kindle at the moment. Can't I do something else? I don't want to install "KOReader", which is a software with high customization, just to narrow my margins. |

I believe that if you create and sideload your own azw3 file with negative margins you can override Amazon’s limitations. (I haven’t tried this myself. I find the standard margins to be fine for my own reading.)

Negative margins work for KF8/AZW3 if you want margins narrower than the Kindle default.

I don't know for sure but I'd guess it won't break word wise. |

I don't use Word Wise, but I tested it quickly, and Word Wise didn't work on my sideloaded books. There may be a way to get it working. I don't know. |

warface9991, you have to download the eBook from Amazon directly so you don't get KFX. You don't want KFX when adjusting the margin using html (as I posted in the other thred).

Hover over the Account & Lists at the top of the amazon page and then click on Your Content and Devices. Then on that page click on the 3 dots button in the Actions column and select Download & Transfer via USB.

It doesn't look that way. I did a quick buzz through Amazon's website, and there are non-KFX books that have Word Wise enabled and KFX books that do not have Word Wise enabled.
Either way, it does seem to be something that Amazon has to add in to the book's coding. I sideload all my books via Send to Kindle so Amazon identifies them as Personal Documents. I'm not surprised they don't have Word Wise. I wonder if there's a way to edit an AZW3 without losing the coding that enables Word Wise. |
